What are your 2 picks of different styled bikes?

MT-09SP and KTM 1290 SAS
(and Kawasaki KLX300 DS to complete the full spectrum.. and maybe one of those new electric bikes with range at least 150kim :))
 
This thread made me realize that I had never thought of having different bikes for variety riding!
But now that you ask - I would love an enduro like the crf/wr 450 for the love of off-roading and an ADV for the rest (The current V650 does a good job)
 
Japanese and Italian
 
I think my Vmax is good for short distances and would be well matched with a street glide for a bit of touring. Adv bikes don't do it for me.
 
Two choices isn't really enough.
A touring bike for week plus jaunts with the Squeeze
A vintage riding bike because they're cool
A vintage tiddler just for fun
A dedicated dirt bike
A KLR for everyhting

I ended up picking one up now after getting a great price for the Tuono.
Either you are spoiled with the SXV power or you didn't get to really rev out the 690. If you short shift or go easy on her, it really doesn't impress.
The lack of a tach also doesn't help new people access the power.
However, mine does have the fuel dongle, exhaust and a PCV. Just need to save up for an air filter and tune. Need to ride buddies stock one to compare.

I was also very unimpressed on first few rides. Give her more twist and use the QC and you will get to speed a lot faster than you think.

Height needs some getting used to being 5'3 but the lightweight and power so far has been a blast.
Still missing the Tuono sound though. No exhaust or intake will make a single sound like anything more than a lawnmower IMO.

Second bike would be some sort of sportier cruiser with mid controls.

Congrats! Glad you're enjoying yours. I really wanted to love it, but I seem to have had unfair expectations, much like the Miami Vice movie, and it let me down about the same. Throttle response and low-rpm power were my major gripes. I did get to rev it out, but it was still meh. I rode an 890 Duke the next day and felt a noticeable difference in the upper PRM range, but it was still gutless down low.
