Your only break on a one way rental is if they have a BC car that needs to be returned to BC. There used to be a car delivery service where a person would want their car delivered somewhere and you could drive it there for free. I don't know if it still exists.
You paid the gas and had a limited number of days to get there. Usually decent cars.

Western Canada
We have cars to be delivered to western Canada year-round. Our clients are individuals and companies who send their vehicles west for a variety of reasons. They keep their vehicles in good condition and they will trust you to take care of their car and effects by driving carefully at all times and by keeping the inside of the car in a clean condition. If the owner of the car is a private individual, they generally use the trunks of their cars for their own personal clothing items that they require at their destination.
Note that this is only a one way means of transportation for individuals wishing to travel to western Canada. While we do not usually have vehicles returning from western Canada, it is always worth contacting us to check availability.
The financial arrangement with respect to driving our clients' vehicles to western Canada varies from season to season. During the summer, drivers pay their own gas plus a registration fee of $100.00. During the winter, however, there is no registration fee required and we sometimes give a small gas allowance of $50.00 to $75.00. In July, for instance we would require a deposit of $400.00 Cdn and $300.00 Cdn would be refunded upon delivery. In February we may require a deposit of $300.00 and the driver would receive $350.00 Cdn upon delivery. During the spring and fall the driver's deposit is usually fully refundable, although not always, making fuel the driver's only expense.
Please note that these figures are generalizations and may fluctuate depending on the time of year and availability. Simply contact us a few weeks prior to your departure to find out the financial arrangement and vehicle availability.
