TV shows currently watching

May have seen it before but terrifically well done and cast and based on actual events.

Ah I enjoyed Clarkson 5 finals and strongly suspect season 6 is underway.
Yup

One in two males will have some form of cancer over their lifetime so no surprise there.
Been there beat that. :giggle:

Poor babies moaning about catheters....yeah it's annoying at times and can be deadly if you get sepsis from a UTI as I did - nearly did me in this year but sepsis kills more than heart and stroke combined and at any age.
My catheter is life time and not really a hassle as it stays in for 6 weeks and hellishly easier to pee from.

Can certainly see glutide at work on Jeremy.....haggard face and pants that don't fit anymore but it will keep him healthier in a variety of ways.

Lisa is a gem. and the crew enjoyable.

Very cool bird watching info as I'm a lifetime twitcher and that listening app is very neat plus the farm scoring high for diversity excellent.

The automation a real eye opener. :coffee:

Finished watching S5 of Clarksons Farm.

Sad and unfortunate for him as it blows.

Overall very good season besides the dead animals and cancer.

99% of prostate cancer is cured or controlled and Jeremy should be fine long term tho he has other morbidities and sepsis is always a risk when his resistance is hampered by cancer treatment. Fortunate his heart issue occurred a while back and the current cancer caught early.
Hopefully he will document his progress. Given the odds of a person having some form of cancer ...one in two for men, one in three for women over a lifetime ....information is critical...fear is not useful.
Some cancers like my kids brain cancer are simply not survivable in the long term...but many are routinely cured or sent into remission.
If Jeremy convinces a few people to get checked regularly, use those free kits and keep an eye on themselves and take action to get something unusual checked, then he is using his immense popularity for a good cause. (y)

Great Crimes and Trials of the Twentieth Century
On Prime ...no trailer, true stories, no trailer for the series - very good reviews.
Very well done and covers off Bernardo and Holmoka as well.
Dr Shipman in the UK is unreal.....
Very engaging and well covered with a mix of re-creation and actual footage.
Some very distressing high profile cases from diverse locations, UK, Australia and US.

Prime has PBS NOVA 🕺

Recently finished S5 For All Mankind.
Was good, but I can't remember how it ended... :p
I believe there is a S6 anyway.

Likely recommended before but brilliant series based on true events

Hugh Laurie, Mark Ruffalo and a superb lead. (y)

All the Light We Cannot See is based on the 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning historical fiction novel by Anthony Doerr. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
While it is not based on a true story, the author set the narrative against the very real backdrop of the 1944 siege of Saint-Malo during World War II. The main characters—Marie-Laure, a blind French girl, and Werner, a young German soldier—are entirely fictional, but their experiences reflect the historical realities of the Nazi occupation, the Hitler Youth, and the French Resistance. Doerr meticulously researched the physical layout and history of Saint-Malo to anchor his novel in authentic WWII history. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
The book was later adapted into a Netflix limited series in 2023. [1]

The lead character, Marie-Laure LeBlanc, is played by two actresses who are legally blind in real life. [1, 2]

Aria Mia Loberti: Plays the teenage Marie-Laure. She has a genetic condition called achromatopsia and was a human rights advocate before making her acting debut in the series.

off my regular beat but good twisty entertainment....on Stan which has a cheap as chips 2 month subscription deal on right now ...lots of good stuff to watch.

I’m finding True Crime/Cold Case series more engaging than most fictional procedurals.
for instance

That said I did find Adolescence very engaging tho despite being fictional.
The incredible acting of the young man in his debut AND the fact that the episodes were shot in single takes certainly added to the engagement.
