TV shows currently watching

I'm sure you all know this has started up:

I've lost track of what happened in the last season, but curious to see how they are going to follow up, and why they let things lag so long and if there is a some reason in the story for that.
There's a bit of a refresher/recap to start this new season which certainly helps as I forgot as well. We're 2 episodes in so far and it's good. I find Millie Bobbie Brown annoying now though.

Never got into Stranger Things but Millie Bobby Brown was wunderkin in her Sherlock roles.
Force of nature
.......
Not a Python fan at all ...acquired taste I think but the current Robin Hood has so many retro elements o_O:eek: mebbe 🍿

I prefer Claire Daines at 17 in Romeo and Juliette as she reminds me of how old and wrinkled I've become seeing her now
She seems to be in danger of being typecast into psychotically challenged but she's a good mix with Mathew Rhys who I loved in The Americans

If you don't find someone who is supposed to be playing mid to late teens annoying, they aren't doing it right.

Stranger Things - Just never got into it tho I admire Millie Bobby Brown is astonishing in her Holmes stuff and has certainly carved a huge niche for her age in the industry and beyond Millie Bobby Brown - Wikipedia

Finally getting deeper in Homeland. The Guardian calls it genius - I enjoy Claire Danes ever since Romeo and Juliette tho the psycho melt downs get old. She was very good in The Beast in Me tho she made me feel old I like Rhys as well …he was terrific in The Americans which still ranks for me perhaps the top in the category tho Spooks a near rival.
Comparing Danes in Beast and Homeland is depressing.....BillCat-1.jpg

Gave up on Kaleidoscope …just blah

I used to think that Claire Danes was Tumu Gwyneth Paltrow but, after years of reflection, the opposite is likely more true.

Clair is ok (and yes the crazy meltdowns was bad writing), but she's no comparison for Morena, I'm sure we've mentioned this before on here, but it's always nice to revisit this one.

She was the only reason I watched the show, too bad she was only in S1 and I think S2.

Yeah but she's almost getting typecast into the crazy but brilliant broad - even in Beast
Maybe she does the hysterics really well. 🤷‍♂️

Morena has a serious bod but she doesn't occupy much for me ...the daughter is well cast and acted.
How I spent my first week Dec 2025 ....bingeing Homeland

Finally getting around to checking out Star Trek Continues:

Honestly I'm not sure what to make of it. Valiant effort, but the actors and delivery is all over the place, and the pacing is weird.
Kinda feels like a B version of a show. From what I gather it's fan lead creation, which might explain a lot.

Either way I'm entertained even if it's not in the intended form.

Yup, it's a fan creation but involved legit actors like Gigi Edgley (Farscape) and Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk TV series). James Doohan's son Christopher plays Scotty and he looks a hell of a lot like his father. The late Grant Imahara (Mythbusters) plays Sulu. I was one of the many Kickstarter backers of the series. It's largely based on scripts that were written for what would have been the 4th season of Star Trek: TOS. The first episode, "The Pilgrim of Eternity", features Michael Forest who played Apollo in the original TOS episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?"

Now there's a woman I really wanted to see more from, from the first time I saw her in a deodorant commercial.

The episode with Lou was unintentionally hilarious. At first I didn't recognize him, they did a good job with his appearance, but that voice, dead give away, and funny he's back in green. What killed me though was Kirk drop kicking him...lol!

Mignogna is a certified dick, but he does a passable Kirk.

$72B. Like so much of the modern American perversion of capitalism, that's truly obscene.

Says two things to me: First, they are already charging too much. Second, expect massively accelerated enshittification, including more ads for lower tier subscriptions and then even more expensive high-tier options.

This isn't the first time this has been said, but this does a pretty good job of running down how streaming all but killed piracy, but consolidated markets are bringing it back like crazy:

Just started rewatching "Fringe", because it had been too long. I might, however, stop short of the final season. Undecided at the moment.

After that I'll likely go through "Babylon 5" and its movies again.

It was predicted and has come to pass that streaming would just become the new cable TV. With everything siloed it's small wonder that piracy would make a resurgence.
