This weather

Gheesh a whole day of rain.... the whole day! WTF. And more tomorrow. it's still May right?

2 more coming. Not supposed to stop and be kinda half nice (albeit still partly cloudy and cool) for Sunday. Then back to rain next week.

I'd better get out Sunday for something good as this is getting annoying.

@PrivatePilot , your riding buddy that moved to NB didnt own an HD svo bagger and have a wife with an HD trike did he? We may have had the same buddy . Hope not , mine was an idiot.

Nope, metric guy. Wasn’t even riding anymore at the time, kind of fell out of the hobby.

Sure but May, the last half is usually a whole lot nicer then this.

Yeah, I’m usually getting the first swim in the pool by the first week of June. This year I’m doubting that, the water is still frigid.

As someone whose bday is in may i can tell you that is not quite true! i've spent many a bday 'rained out' lol.

Well happy B-day, i hope you’re able too enjoy the weather 😎
i did thanks! bombing backroads in PA/NY was quite the bday.

Ah ha! Well as someone else who also has a bday in May, I can also say it is true! Lol Happy bday, May is (usually) a good month!

Lol...you guys realize it's spring for another month right?

Maybe load up some wet weather gear and find a way to still enjoy it.

The more you like riding, the more you ride.

The less you like riding, the more you stay inside and write on the internet all of the lies you tell yourself "reasons" why can't be riding.

Yesterday I rode home in the rain from Studio Cycle on a brand new 2025 Husqvarna Svartpilen 801. Didn't even have any rain gear with me. Just a guy happy as a pig in **** to be exploring and testing a motorcycle he's never had the chance to ride before. I was seeing what it can do, how it handles things, and how much fun I could have on it through the city on my ride home.

Did I arrive home pretty wet? Yep!

Did my butt leave a funny butt wet trace on the weird material seat? It sure did!

Will I include my butt print in my video review? You know it!

Do I know I had a blast? Absolutely!

How do I know? Because even though I was all wet from riding in "this weather", I stayed in the garage for at least five minutes, checking out the motorcycle from all angles, replaying certain parts of the ride in my head, saving certain things to memory to talk about later, before going in to change clothes.

I hate riding in the rain. It sucks. I get it. I wasn't thrilled about doing it on a brand new expensive motorcycle with 0 km on the tires. It multiplies the suckage. I get it... Staying in and bitching instead of going out of riding is like, Suckage level 10,000 though.

As the years have worn on my desire to leave the garage when the weather is ****** has drastically decreased unless it is part of a bigger trip.

A few years ago we left for our annual May 24 weekend ride to the Adirondacks in torrential rain, but that was part of a bigger trip in the forecast at our destination was completely different so it made sense. We geared up, rolled out, and everything was completely drenched before we reached the end of the driveway, but we rode out of it and enjoyed our weekend.

If I was leaving for BC this morning and it was pouring, I would gear up and go no questions.

But I was thinking about going for a ride up to Bancroft for lupper today, and it was not only raining here, but raining 75% of the way up, most of the time there, and likely most of the way back based on how the radar is trending.

I’m itching for a ride, but not at the level where I am going to gear up to leave the garage, get to a restaurant soaked and have to strip off all that gear, only to put it all back on again for a repeat ride through the rain to get home.

Again, if it was part of a bigger trip, it would have been on the road hours ago no matter what. If it was a necessity to get my bike from A to B for some reason, same, I would be gone already.

But for an “enjoyment” ride, leaving the garage knowing that I was going to be getting wet for probably 75% of the ride, not so much.

Spent the 1/2 sunny day here, trimming trees and cutting grass.
Think I should put my bike up on a rental site so it gets some use...lol
