Here, let me help you:
Scarabeos were unreliable pieces of **** even when they were new. Many a rider in the scooter community at the time thought they were a good idea and learned that lesson the hard way.
Nevermind, just saw it sold for $500.
Well... I don't know what manure costs these days but someone just bought 300 lbs of it *shrug*

Or leave the luggage on, pack some stuff, ride a few hundred km's away, explore a bit and ride even more curvy roads, ride home and pick up groceries on the way.
Oh I'd ride to PA with the luggage on but I'd pull the panniers for the twists. My Vstroms and the CBF1000 were very different bikes unloaded. Mind you the CBF1000 hardly noticed....torque beast.
