The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Slap on stickers on it and it will pop as well as go faster!
You can get reflective tape in black. Doesn't show at all in the day but lights you up nicely at night.

He can get reflective flags too if he wants some colour/personalized touches. A polish side and a Canadian side could be interesting and as the colours are the same, not immediately obvious. You'd have to remove to sell though. Too limiting for your market.

I hear the buyer of the Scrambler was Polish.

So there are more than just the 2 resident Polaks some of you know in the wild.

Alright I'll bite...why not?

Scrambler sold in 24h since I posted it on the weekend so the bike is now gone and the new owner texted me last night saying he can't believe how great the bike is (now I'm regretting the sale).

So I'm in the market again...but for now holding off as kids are growing, wife is uneasy with drivers and riding within the GTA, etc etc.

Not starting a new thread because I don't feel like getting mocked, and I'm fairly confident I know what I want.

Here's the Ducati leaving me forever (a part of me hoped the guy would change his mind and want his money back):

Listed for $5500 and sold for $5k. Had no bites at 6500 and 6000 last year so figured I just want it gone...miss that sound already.
Congrats on finally moving it. It was a nice bike, but you kept yearning for something a bit different, so might as well try something else. So many great bikes andstyles to choose from.

Thanks.

Bike was great for quick jaunts around town.

But for full day rides…horrible for comfort, wind protection, and range.

Off to something new when it comes my way.

A face only a mother could love!

I’d love a multi but the service costs scare the hell out of me.
You've experienced the bike with "character" now. The good part of ownership and riding, plus the bad parts - increased service/ownership costs and needing to find just the right buyer from a smaller pool when it's time to move on.

Do you want to continue with that? Many do, including me, but from what you've posted over the last few months I'd say a good, solid Japanese ADV-style bike has Mimico Polak written all over it. You can get a lot of bike for a little money if you don't mind older ones, and the equation holds even on newer ones. A Honda Transalp or Africa Twin, ANY V-strom, or a Yamaha Super Tenere will carry you comfortably anywhere you want to go for many, many years for negligible dollars, comparatively speaking.

The only caveat I would consider is bike size/weight and seat height if you have ANY intention of riding off road.

To summarize my opinion - Get the latest model 650 V-strom with hard luggage that you can afford and ride it to your worry-free hearts content for years to come, then sell it off to the next guy for not much less than you paid for it. I think the yellow ones are the fastest by the way.

Well said. While I love the Multistrada 950 I’m not going for ‘character’ any longer.

In order of preference (price taken into consideration):

VSTROM 650/800
Versys 650
Tenere 700
VFR800
TransAlp
Africa Twin

I don’t think a >1000cc is something I need in my life.

And the face is literally the only ugly part of it, which can be changed:

The AT is huge (neighbour has one), doubt it's what you want but sit on one and see. My buddy has the Transalp and it feels like a mountainbike in comparison to the AT (and my SAR). Hard to find a Transalp for a good price though as they're quite coveted.
VFR has you stuck riding the same old roads you've always done without exploring some dirt (opens up some new riding option/experiences).
Tenere 700, good bike, may be higher price like the Transalp, check fuel range.
Versys, never ridden one, too ugly to own.
Vstrom......do it.
:)
