The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

"Bad drivers", but for a different reason:

Oh news. Trying to add fuel to a fire. Dont get me wrong it was dumb, but street racing-style cars?

"street racing-style cars"
"The cars parked in the lot included pickup trucks, sports cars and tow trucks"

a pile of recent model Mazdas and civics. Looks more like a busy day at the grocery store than a car meet.

I've seen a Mustang group around here. About 40-50 of them, may meet weekly. I just try to stay far away.

Had one stopped at the inside lane of a two left turn lane on the highway off ramp. I was doing 40 when I started passing him on the green.
He didn't like it, and hit the accelerator, then nearly hit me as he could no longer make the turn. Luckily I had room to go wide. Who in their right mind wants to race a minivan?

Clean up in aisle 3. Lots of criminal charges coming out of the knobs taking over the streets to burn rubber. I hope they had fun because a bunch of criminal charges in their 20's related to being an entitled ahole will do nothing for their career prospects.

I don't even want to think about insurance if you got convicted of dangerous driving x12.

" Police say that those taken into custody as part of the investigation were all members of groups that promoted the rallies, including TO Takeovers, 416 Wolfpack and 905 Mexican Run. "

Now if they only went after real criminals like this . Imagine the streets without shootings everyday .

Kraig robertson of barrie fits the bill. At 18, he got a stunt driving charge (111 in a 60), at 19 he got in a crash and picked up a bunch of drug charges and now at 22 he just got arrested for leaving the scene of an accident causing death. There may be more charges along the way, those were just the obvious news articles about his driving.

Tractor trailer on FOTC today. $110 ticket.

$110 fine? That's it? He should pay for the recovery effort as well imo. That might be a better deterrent for future idiots trying this than a slap on the wrist.

It's kinda funny too to see that big trailer with a tiny boom on the back, could have been delivered with a smaller flat bed maybe???‍♂️

I'm assuming he had to pay for the wrecker as well but that was a private transaction so it doesnt make the news. I dont know if they stuck him for the bill for the equipment and manpower to close the road. With the number of signs, you would think this should be an automatic careless charge.

The very next day! Just how do these guys get an "A" licence in the first place if they can't read the numerous signs along the road.

I fully agree, an automatic careless driving charge charge should apply in these cases. Morons!

A few years ago I was travelling from Creemore to 124. Doing about the speed limit.
Always being prepared for something around a blind corner.
Lo and behold, there was a big frigging farm tractor. Took up 90% of the road. I had a choice to slam on the anchors and let it go past me or go for the 10% gap.
Slamming on the brakes, Very bad idea, hard to count the fact is did he see me? Slim chance of that. Squashed me and bike.
Or go for the gap. Went for the gap. Safely and fully alert of anything else he might has squashed on the way.
It was obviously a very split second decision
Made it safely and continued merrily on my way.
Now this bit was very annoying.
I called the OPP and told them of my experience.
Reply was, more or less, "So sad too bad, it is farming Country".
Asked why did this vehicle not have an Police escort?
Same reply.
Moral of the story.
Assume the worst until you can prove the best.
Going back to look at the picture of the vehicle at the Forks.
I think, if I remember correctly, (Very rarely go to the Forks) for a rider either going up or down, very little wiggle room. to escape.
A $100 fine. Wow. Something should be done about that. Endangering life.

Maybe 8 years ago, around this time of year, I was doing a solo weekday ride along Forks Road. I was coming in from Hwy 10 and headed west. I was perhaps a touch 'spirited' in my ride, as mid-morning on a weekday Forks would be deserted. No mind bending speeds, as straight line speed does very little for me, but I wasn't exactly paying attention to the "suggested" corner speeds.

I came around the hairpin at a sedate pace and then got a bit back on the throttle again, as I really enjoy the following right-hander. So I'm leaned over about as much as I ever am (not much by others' standards) when I get to the apex and see, in the exact middle of the road, a car parked, with the "Leafer" former occupants standing along the side of the road, admiring the colours. There was no stopping; I would have lost traction. So at a lean I had to split between this parked car and the two people. I made it to the store and parked for a while, to let my heartbeat drop a bit from 200/min.
