Watched the ‘Hail Mary Project’. Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did, but it was a good watch.

We went to see it twice, once in iMax - bound to be a classic over time and cast is well chosen.
Good mix of fun and assuming certain things, well constructed from a science standpoint.

Even little touches like relativity aging on earth vs Dr Grace staying with Rocky done without fanfare. Worthwhile addition to the scifi pantheon.

You know how this one goes. Moody guy with hidden past gets disturbed. Kid involved who he needs to protect. Easiest way to do this is to kill everyone. And that’s a wrap.

Knew it would be bad, but wanted to see how bad they messed up Animal Farm. Angel Studios really ruined their reputation with this one. Not sure what they were thinking bringing in people like Seth Rogan in on this movie and then thinking they could write something more enlightened then Orwell. They literally flipped the story and seemingly made zero attempt of putting any intelligence into what they were doing. Pour attempts at humor which I am thinking they assumed would have saved this film. Some of the PR stuff seemed to also make this out to be a kids movie. Other then lazily made animated farm animals there is nothing here a kid would be interested and in my opinion should be seeing.

Do yourself a favour and ignore this movie and if you have not read the book read that.

I did not realize there was a previously made animated movie. I am definitely going to check that out. Though I have found with many adaptations to film, the older movies are a little more faithful to the work they are adapting.
