Muskoka road 32

Hi guys,

Maybe a lot of you already know about this, but I sure didn't. I rode on Southwood rd 13, and Muskoka rd 38 today. When 38 was over I didn't turn south on 400 as I planned and decided to go ahead on road 32. Here is the location:

it's a little stretch of a road, but man, it is twisty!! VERY technical, great pavement, for my skill level I found that it was thrilling even within the speed limit. In corners you have to watch out for gravel, so be very careful. A lot of level changes as well, like I said, I enjoyed it very much.
So next time you're in the area, make sure you give it a try.

awesome thx Alex wil check it out in 2 weeks when im up there.

Be very careful on 32. Lots of boaters and hunters up I that area, they also seem to think that stretch (go home lake rd) is privately owned and do not take well to people being on it (especially bikes) I've had a few confrontations on that road.
To be honest it's not even worth the hassle, there are much better roads in the area with better pavement.

Its a nice piece of road, if a sweeper hit it periodically. My fams got a cottage off the street so Im up there whenever my back can take the beating. I like how everything turns to rock on the north end of it, feels like ur on mars or somethin :0)

I found the pavement to be top notch, it seemed like it was repaved recently. Yes, it was gravel in some corners, but I found all roads in the area to be like that.
Yes, to ride from GTA all the way there might not worth it, but if you're in the area, I say it's a must.
Where are those much better roads?

Havnt been on it in a couple years so they must have repaved, it used to be pretty bad.

Yes those roads I linked are paved. Kennisis Lake road starts out as nice smooth pavement and moves into older pavement (maybe chipseal) after about 15k. Watts Trail is all chipseal. Do not ride either in the morning when the dew is on the roads, as they are very slippery when wet, but have excellent grip when dry.

Harburn Rd is just an amazing piece of pavement engineering.

The second one (Watts Trail) and the northern edge of Kennisis Lake Road are only really used by those with property up there, so the sand that is applied for winter takes a long while to come off. Last year it wasn't until after September that Watts Trail was totally clean. Even with the sand, it's an amazing road - the likes of which we do not have anywhere else - technical enough that it can be tons of fun at around 40-80km/hr.

If you liked that, then check out Harburn Rd: http://goo.gl/maps/nmGPm

And also check out Kennisis Lake Road which leads to the even better Watts Trail: http://goo.gl/maps/cvbmV
Thanks for posting this. I decided to try these roads today. Went up through Haliburton and took highway 118, then turned onto Harburn road. Great road, lots of twisties, good pavement, and almost no traffic. I took harburn up until Haliburton Lake Rd then took that back down to hwy 118. Then I turned onto Kennisis Lake road. More traffic than harburn but not too bad, took it all the way up to Watts Rd. Turned right at Watts but only went a few kms then turned back because I was low on fuel. Should have filled up in Haliburton. I can now see on google maps that Watts forms a loop around Little Kennisis Lake and I could have just kept going and wound up back on Kennissis Lake road, but for some reason that wasn't evident when I was looking at google maps on my phone. Watts Road looked recently paved, but it was very wet, looks like a rainstorm had passed through just before I got there (lucky I missed it). There were quite a few little restaurants up there, I wonder if they're any good. Lots of roads up in that area, too bad google maps doesn't indicate if they're paved. I think I'm gonna go back up there soon and explore more.
