Oh, BMW is not trying to make money? It's a non-profit organization?
The bike has internet connectivity, regenerative braking, 150hp, it's the first fast electric for sale in the US- what exactly is not innovative? A lot of the tech on this bike was developed in the Stanford area and is used by Tesla. The only other sports electric is an Italian bike with 1/3 the range.
The bike is designed for future upgrades, with new battery packs swappable.
Integrated HD cameras with telemetry overlay.
built-in GPS nav
Wireless helmet HUD support
top-grade Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes.
The only real issue with these bikes is weight, they are close to 500lbs.
BMW's electric effort is a big scooter. Their car effort is definitely a joke. This is one aspect of motoring where the US actually leads the world.
I would be wary of any BMW electric -they have an awful track record with Bosch reliability in their cars.
