Police are not laying charges at this time against a homeowner who fired shots at three suspects who broke into their home in Vaughan on Tuesday morning.

Tinted plate covers make it impossible to report plate numbers in hit and run collisions, which directly impacts the general public. Heavy window tint is a danger to officers as they can't determine vehicle occupancy, or actions of the occupants. We don't live in Arizona. You don't need heavy tint.

The plate thing is something I've been wanting for years.

A few years back caging solo back from Manitoba in the middle of the night, northern Ontario, and taking advantage of no other traffic, I suddenly realized I was either being pulled over or the Northern Lights were in blue red mode. Sub HTA 172 but barely.

It was pitch black as I pulled over and and turned on the interior lights of the car. The officer advised me of the wildlife risks, moose and bear, and let me off with a warning. I kept my promise.

I can't help but feel he appreciated the gesture and that a chippy attitude from me could have been expensive.
