How was your season?

Bought my first motorcycle (2009 Ninja 250) in April and have put 5k trouble free kilometres since :)

Enjoying every bit of riding and am so happy I bit the bullet and bought it.
 
This season has been great. Managed to go on a number of rides (Niagara escarpment, Hamilton, snake road, Tera Nova, Hockley, mansfield, Forks etc).

Managed to put in about 8000K until I sold my 07 zx6r in mid-August.

Now looking to purchase the new 636 at the show next year!
 
I put on 16,000 kms so far since January and still counting. I've had a couple close calls and a 49 over ticket this season. Overall I am extremely pleased and I am excited to go visit my family again next year in Sydney/Ingonish, Nova Scotia. This time on the bike!
 
my season has been great so far, put on about 5500km this season, i plan to put some more before season ends, see how it goes.....
 
So far this season for me, logged 7,000KMs and one speed ticket (in the Hockley area) and had the charges dropped. One close call not too long ago, going west on 401, one of the cagers darted out onto my lane, definitely one of those 'oh ******' moments.
 
Overall a very good season so far. Started off the year with a frozen shoulder (couldn't move it) so it impacted my ride enjoyment considerably, but with a ton of physio I'm riding pain free now. I have delved into more mechanical stuff than ever, changed and balanced my own tires, changed out leaking fork seals and learned a ton, that has been quite satisfying. I think I'm on pace for mileage at 12K so far, but the rides tend to be longer and not as frequent. Zero police interaction, not even a warning, so I call that a win, speed discipline is something I will always need to work on.
 
lots of day rides > 500km. one two night trip to pennsylvania. I ended up getting a full time job (against my better judgement) so i'll have to be a weekend warrior from now on. it looks like ill be leaving the house at 7am on saturdays to go riding

So who cares if they amend it back up? Your insurance company doesn't care, it'll just cost you a few extra $$ for the actual ticket! It'd be WAY better to fight it and take your chances, then pay it and be screwed over by your insurance for the next 3/5 years, etc.

Just a few more $$? That will put the ticket up to well over 50 over where it will go from a $360 ticket to minimum $2000 (maybe more since I wouldn't have taken the generosity of the reduction kindly) plus I would be suspended for the week starting the day of/after the court day, further increasing insurance for 6 years.

Bottom line is I was going 65 over and I was caught. I am lucky enough that I got a break and I'm man enough to live up to my mistakes. End of story.
 
I've had a great season so far...and hoping it continues until well into December as last year! I've put on 6,500km on the new bike since March...not as many day rides/group rides as I had hoped (damn work!) but with these last few nice weekends left I'm hoping to get out some more. Otherwise it's only commuting :(

Sorry, that's not how it works. They can't amend up the charge, only the penalty! 65 over would be $633.75 and would be treated identical to your 49 over ticket by your insurance company. No chance of getting your license suspended. It would have been well worth the risk, at least you'll know that at next insurance renewal :(

Lol, this ticket is replacing a similar one on my abstract for next renewal, anyway. :P I assume insurance will stay the same.

Over 6000km in this season, likely hit 8 or 9k by the time the bike's away. My usual winter storage is in jeopardy and probably won't happen, so need to figure that out. Also need to get a battery tender lead attached to my battery which will require a trip to the mechanic. Getting to the battery on the Monster is probably the most convoluted process of any bike in existence...
 
been a good season no tickets run from the cops more than 10 times this season but it was either 50 over or goooo. thinking of cutting the season short and quitting while im ahead

Attaching a quick disconnect for your charger should not be that hard. What makes it require a mechanic trip?
