Mandatory military style boot camp after their second offence.
Umm, ya. Many years ago Bell Canada, on a Monday, were to take over part of Northern Bell in the area where mom & dad's camp was.Dumb criminals. Where did they think they were going to take it in to turn it into cash? Did they have a plan to drive it across the province to take to an unsuspecting, or unaware of the situation scrap yard? Or maybe cut up a couple of km worth of wire into 1 foot chunks? Surely any scrap yard within 100km of this would have been called and warned to turn these guys in.

It's funny that you think a single crackhead mother and no father anywhere, gives a single F for the kid or society. The vast majority of these kids came from the worst situations you can think of, and they're getting by the only way they see. Then they get caught, go to jail (or get out right away), and they only have their crappy situation to get back to.Honestly with the youth today...may as well just arrest the parents at the same time as the kid.
Maybe then people will take some responsibility for their kids' actions.
Doubtful...but one can hope.
For a number of years I lived near a youth detention center. I couldn't count the number of times a kid would escape just before their time was up just to be caught again so they could spend more time in lock-up. It was better than home. It's funny that you think a single crackhead mother and no father anywhere, gives a single F for the kid or society. Oh I'm sure they don't, and the kid is basically doomed to a life of crime as that's their only outlet that they know. It's funny that you think a single crackhead mother and no father anywhere, gives a single F for the kid or society. See post #921 above. But what is the solution?
There is no fix for him and many others. Into the Gator pond with them.Had one in Hamilton in July where a literal kid killed an innocent bystander, a young woman, who was just waiting at a bus stop outside Jackson Square downtown at rush hour. It's bad enough when they kill each other, but being reckless enough to be firing a handgun on a busy street deserves little sympathy, I think...

Let's see what Carney comes up with.
All located in con ridings.50 new modular prisons (low security, of course.....because feels). All made by Modulaire, a subsidiary of Brookfield.
Build them in the arctic with nothing around, if they escape they have no where to go.50 new modular prisons (low security, of course.....because feels). All made by Modulaire, a subsidiary of Brookfield.

The Amish practice shunning when members go against the grain. Peer pressure can be a good deterrent but the bar has been set so low by politicians and those in power that it hardly matters.Heinlein did a short story about a society on a planet that worked on "OBs" (obligations, markers), and how one guy abused the system and became ostracised. Can't remember the title. It's been a good 40+ years since I read it.
They get left to fend for themselves i imagine.I would like to see what supposedly primitive tribes in remote jungles do with unproductive members of the tribe. Maybe we could learn a thing or two.
