Simplest method is to install an 30a automotive relay. Power and ground straight to the battery, trigger to any circuit that goes on with the key, and output to your little fuse panel. It’s a 10 minute installl and can be mounted anywhere it fits on the bike.

Does this set up have 2 relays already one for each bank of 3 circuits?
I have the set up with an Eastern Beaver wiring harness to a Centech II fuseblock that has both the switched on and always on combo. Benn on for over 10 years now without issue (jinxed I know).

But the above pic of this compact set up is intriguing.

No, I the one in the pic has 4 circuits are fused to always live which are ideal for things like cig lighter sockets (compressor, lighter), SAE pigtails (tender) and winch switches. 2 are connected to relays triggered by ignition on, good for displays, running lights, cheapie usb ports that have parasitic drain.

You can also buy circuit boxes where a relay energizes all for circuits when ignition is on - they would only have one relay.

The two bigger black square units at the back looked like relays as I can't tell from the picture. It is a nice set up for sure.
 
I’m so conflicted with this. I’m riding this air cooled Bonneville and here I am installing a screen to have Waze displayed and take calls and messages through my wired up helmet. The great thing is, I can just take the stuff off and ride like god intended but, I do shake my head at myself sometimes. Retro bike with modern amenities like navigation and call and txt capabilities.

I wouldn't be so concerned.

"Like god intended" would have you going back to drum brakes, leaf springs and 3-speed hand shifters.

Take a little bit of the new, make it look as old as you can, sprinkle in a bit of modern convenience, shake it up a little and sit back and enjoy the ride! (y)
 
Indian did a nice job on their FTR when they replaced the ugly rectangular screen with a round one to blend in a bit better with the styling.

Hmm, my next search will be round apple carplay screen...

For cars (Mini Cooper), so obviously too large for a motorcycle, but it shows that others are also thinking along the same lines...
 
Tempted to try one of the $60 units so I don't feel the need to remove it every time I park. Only 5", but then so is my phone which works fine.

Do you pair the phone to both the screen and your comms, or do these act like a bridge (pair the phone to only the screen, then pair the screen to your comms?

Are the ball mounts compatible with RAM? I heard the included arms are cheap plastic, and the bar mount also looks cheap, so I'd like to reuse my X-Grip mount. Also,
 
Ram mounts have 5 different ball sizes but the most common is 1", as long as they match you should be good to use at least part of your existing RAM setup. You can also get some pretty cheap aluminum arms etc. on amazon, i bought a couple of cheap ones ( 2.36" & 3.7" for $16.60) to use with the cup holder/ball mount I bought at the two wheel powersports sale and they seemed to be made well.

As far as connections, I feel like your phone as the bridge would be the way I try first but I'm sure it works either way.

The one that I have is from the "Aoocci" brand. In this case my phone is paired to my comms via bluetooth, and to the nav unit via Android Auto (which i think it can be either WiFi or Bluetooth)
