Yup but I was wondering how far they expected people to walk to the box. Some would drive if it was 50 feet. I don't know if boxes in commercial plazas would work. More walk in traffic or nuisance?

Addresses with postal codes beginning with M9V and M9W, an area roughly stretching east from Hwy. 427 to the Humber River, and from Steeles Ave. W. south to Hwy. 401, will see their door-to-door mail delivery replaced with community mailboxes

Quick google street view and wow what a nice neighbourhood. You never know your in the city. I see lots of small businesses in the south end. Can see defintely see community mail boxes going up there if not already.

The area between burnhamthorpe and Bloor with 427 -> Martin Grove is a beautiful area. North of Burnhamthorpe…it’s like a different city considering the size of the lots and houses.

I was opposed when we got the superbox at our first house , but I didn’t realize ( sixteen years ago) what a functional crap show Canada post was . Put in super boxes everywhere if it gives Canada post a chance to survive. There is one at this house , around the corner from me , litter is zero . Ever.

I live on an outside corner of a crescent street, our super box is close, across the street about 150’ away. Never see debris around the box.

We had home delivery in Montreal, but a Community Mailbox when we moved to Mississauga in '89 just around the corner. Pretty much zero issues with litter and it works fine, no issues.

I'd like to see the schedule for the 4M addresses that are to be switched over to Community Mailboxes. 136k is a start, but IMO 5 years is too long a period. I suppose this is being phased in to align with planned staff attrition and non replacement over time.

Also, no residential customer needs Community Mailbox service 5 days a week. Cut it down to 2 days a week for a year or so and see how that works. I go to our mailbox once a week.

I have as much use for Canada Post as I do for CBC...in other words zilch! Shut them down!

The next time I place an order in Canada which is rare, I'll make sure if goes by FedEx or UPS. I usually order from the US and I am used to FedEx or UPS (without even requesting it) delivering my parcels to my US holding address. The store used Canada Post "Expedited Parcel" and it has a totally different meaning up here.
