My bad. I've known a lot of male Jan's. I'm still not fully reprogrammed to use they for safety.

Yes, she works for the union but the union has a contract with Canada Post. If Canada Post was insolvent and a new national mail carrier (call it CP2 for now) existed, CP2 would start without a union. Employees would have to be dumb to sign up for the union that rode the last company into the grave.

Oh sure, my context was leaning towards the fact that I doubt very much her interests (unions) align with the crown Corp. Employees.

It`s totally plain to see that unions, just like governments, exist only for their benefit, nothing else. When I worked for non-union companies I worked hard and was treated very well, never saw any union shop shenanigans(good word that), that rewarded lazy and drunk.

While that is partially true, a lot of the workers that are marching to extinction are detached from reality.

For many, it's a variation of the sunk cost fallacy where they can't let go of the reality that 25 years invested in hopes of long term security has no future short of eliminating the internet.

Well at least they kinda addressed the elephant in the room.

I've always had door delivery of mail, but honestly the only things left are insurance stuff and the odd gov things, which I'm sure I could convert over to electronic. An there is junk mail, which I just throw out.

If there isn't another bailout how do you un-flush a toilet?

How does CP keep running? I can see private suppliers putting them on COD for fuel, hydro, stationery, etc.

Wages from the top down stop being paid.

Unless all the posties continue to work for nothing it all stops. Letter carriers can't deliver mail that hasn't been sorted or transported. Mailboxes don't empty themselves and have to be sealed. Domino effect kicks in.

Bailiffs have to sort assets out in a particular order with the little guys often getting screwed. What assets does CP have that could be sold off? Properties, buildings, machinery?

More money will be needed to transition to whatever alternate system is devised but it can't be used to nourish the status quo. The new system will have to involve municipalities for mailbox locations.

How's the municipal reputation on mass transit?
 
Superboxes are a start. To that we should add delivery only 2.5 times a week (first week MWF, second week TT).
In today's world who needs daily delivery?

Make the box location the pit stop for your dog. If you have to put up with their s*** they have to put up with your pup's.

FWIW A friend saw that they were going to put a busy bus stop in front of his house, made a fuss ad got it moved a couple of lots away. Research it before someone else gets the inside track.
