Border Crossing

I've never had to take a helmet off....3/4 or flip up and my sunny smile does it everytime. :D

I have been through a random ( they told me it was entirely random) ...unpack everything from the bike ( they do it )
Wait for cross examination by immigration.....luckily I sort of jumped the queue as some looked like they were in for a long stay.
Pack everything back on the bike ( you do it ....sigh )
Fortunately I travel light

....

Got pulled into secondary for not having rabies paperwork for a dog, it was not my dog , sat there for 40mins, Border agent calls our names , at the wicket she says “does the dog have rabies” answer “no officer” her” fine, carry your paperwork, enjoy your day”
It was a time out for being a dumdum

the border crossing debate can be solved with one rhetorical question...

can you get to Letchworth State Park without it?

you're a good sport MD lol

The colours should be out this weekend.
It’s an amazing place...and such an easy ride/drive to get there.

Yup. Visor up, sunglasses off (preferably before you actually get to the person that can give you a five year prohibition just because they don't like the cut of your jib).
If you have a full face helmet expect to remove it. I’ve been asked to do so every time on both sides.

Which crossing(s) doesn’t have a toll? I know Fort Erie does since I just came back from there last night.

My old memory keeps me thinking there is a place that doesn’t. I always trick myself into thinking there is some places they don’t.

And there was a time they only took cask and now they take visa etc.

My apologies for any confusion. Ontario crossings will have a toll.

Not quite ...when you cross into the US there is no toll...
When you return there is a toll.

Sarnia/Port Huron... you actually pay in both directions. 'Same for the Ambassidor bridge at Windsor/Detroit.... so, quite.

Ok, I thought things changed. I always cross at Fort Erie for the shorter lineups. I even cross there when importing a vehicle since the export office at Queenston/Lewiston closes around 4, giving me plenty of time to head back down to the Anchor Bar for dinner.

At least the Grand Island bridge is sort of free. Well, since they got rid of the booths, I’ve never received a bill in the mail.

There is no toll into the US at Lewiston or at Fort Erie, Rainbow or the Whirlpool....

  • Baudette-Rainy River International Bridge – No Toll
Bridge Connecting Quebec to Vermont
  • Glen Sutton – East Richford Bridge – No Toll

Bridges Connecting New Brunswick to Maine
  • Saint Croix-Vanceboro Bridge – No Toll
  • Clair-Fort Kent Bridge – No Toll
  • Edmundston – Madawaska Bridge – No Toll
  • St. Leonard – Van Buren Bridge – No Toll
  • Forest City Bridge – No Toll
  • Milltown International Bridges – No Toll
  • Franklin Delanor Rosevellt Bridge – Campobello / Lubec Bridge – No Toll
and there is a crossing into Alaska from Canada without even a Customs / Immigration station

It should be noted that the Whirlpool crossing is for NEXUS users only.

It's $3.00 bucks? I cant go 20kms out of my way to avoid a $3 toll and consider breaking even.
Whats next? take a thermos so you dont get accused of stopping at a Tim's?

Same people that will line up for half an hour to save 5c/L on gas.

I wrote.... if your crossing a bridge, you're paying a toll.
Didnt specify direction.

Best thing to see in continental USA is the Sequoia trees, put it on your bucket list.
Best place I could find to ride off road so far was Moab.
Otherwise they don't have much we don't have here.

If you get hurt down there, crawl back across the border unless you have medical coverage :| they don't do reciprocal medical billing with us like our other provinces do.
