Jurisdiction became the problem with the sailboat left in Burlington Bay , Hamilton waters by Bay front park . Legally moored , but obviously abandoned. Winter is setting in and it’s just there , so if it sinks it becomes an environmental issue and Hamilton gets it . But while it’s floating it’s officially in a federally regulated harbour . When it breaks off the anchor rope it becomes a Coast guard obstruction to navigation and they collect it . Eventually it broke loose and floated into shore , tied to a tree , it took two weeks then the coast guard collected it and towed it to harbour west where it was lifted and scrapped.
