Slip on but would have come with a new ECU for a small power boost. You can tell by turning on the key will say Ducati performance on the dash.

I was more worried about a full system without poking the computer so it had been running lean for a long time.
Termo slip-on and full systems always include a new Ducati ECU tuned to the system.

I think the bigger worry would be if it has the open air box/mod without ecu. Unfortunately hard to tell without removing the tank.
Power on dash text will tell if it has the Ducati performance ecu first and foremost.

It wasn't always this way, so depends on when the system was purchased. Also assuming it as purchased new and not used from someone else who hung onto the ECU.
So I'm confused now...if I look for a Ducati with the termi exhaust I now need to ask about the ECU reflash? Anything else I should worry about or should I just scrap and go Japanese?
Don't do it. Honda 500's are not your friend.

The CBR650 is not going to give you what you are looking for.
Ducati won’t run any more risk with mods than any other customized Japanese bike. It depends on the owner.
But it looks so nice! You're saying it's not as much fun as it looks?
If you're not getting a Busa, the CBR650 is next best.
Friend of mine has one. 10-12 hr days, many times. Never an issue.

The x had more usable torque and comfier ergonomics.
It is honda at its very best, a good practice real world bike.
I don’t know what the cbr650r is, but it’s definitely not for me.
No need to ask it shows on the dash when you turn the key on not really important anyways.

Person I just spoke to said they've got the Termo...but the ECU wasn't flashed. They're also the second owner so may not be aware.
I'll check when I go see it.
