Where is the best place in the city to buy little things like metric nuts, bolts, rubber grommets etc.

Thanks

Local stores like Brafasco and Fastenal are good. Online places like Spaenaur and McMaster are also really good but I'm not sure if you can order items from them. They may only accept orders from companies.

I once walked into one of those stores (I think it was Brafasco) and they didn't have the nut I wanted in stock. The guy at the counter said because they had to special order it, I had to buy like 100 of them. I just wanted one...

So I went on eBay and ordered it. The nut (actually a packet of 4) arrived in an envelope, the delivery charge was the cost of a postage stamp.

On the other hand, I went in to Brafasco once for a largish bolt that they only sold in the 10s or 20s, but they at least had them in stock. So the guy gave one to me!

I keep a few of the Track Packs I my tool box. You can find them at the dealers and the shows, or on eBay.

They've saved my bacon on the KLR which is famous for rattling itself apart.
