Apparently it's 100% legal to have Body Armour

That being said places like R Nichols are pretty snooty and probably won't sell to a civilian, but they're available all over the place online now that I'm looking. Called a couple US distributors and they said they'll ship to Ontario no problem

JR Nichols , Gaunt and Taragon-Tasse aren't snooty, but they are LE/MIL , air fire ambulance , security firm customer based. I have old friends that manage a couple of these distributors, you could only imagine the nutters that call daily trying to buy a mini14, some body armour, and some flash bang grenades because there are squirrels in the chimney.

Unless your in an industry where armour might be handy, why does any joe public need this stuff? its a rhetorical ask....

I used to regularly go in to the Weston location on behalf of my security company, the fella that was usually behind the counter (rocking a level 3 holster with a training glock in it) was a first class douche, but practically kissed the nuts of any cop who came in.

You're opening the need vs. want and "mah freedom" can of worms with that question :)

Ask this question on CGN. :lmao:

I'll make us some popcorn and we can sit back and enjoy the shitstorm.

Is he law enforcement or security?
I don't think it would be legal for anybody to holster a gun

Why would anyone want to ride with body armour anyway, aren't they uncomfortable and heavy? are you expecting to get shot while riding?

To look "cool". No, they're very light and breathable until you start putting ceramic plates or level 3 stab/spike into them. I forget I'm wearing one at work if it's the concealed type. I was wearing it in my cage with the rest of my uniform on the way to work...

Are flame throwers legal to own?

Lets team up and make one. But only if we can call it Flaming Betty.

I'm pretty sure those Super Soakers by nerf can be converted to shoot our gasoline. Then we just need to find a way to prevent backfire and put a torch thingy in the front!

Unless your last name is Rossi, why does anyone need a supersport bike? Also, you have people who wish for an increased degree of safety when hunting or at the range (even though we are talking about UBER-safe environments, no joke). In any case I don't remember hearing about someone being beaten to death with body armor in Canada.

I haven't seen anyone ask yet so maybe this is a stupid question... why is it illegal to own body armour of any kind? Is it because law enforcement wants to ensure they can take you out if they really want to? I really can't think of any other reason.

Body armour, level 3 and above are considered controlled goods, so you must be listed/registered with DFAIT to possess/transfer/buy/sell. IIRC, the penalty for non-compliance is $25,000 per day. Level 3A is less than level 3, so they're not considered controlled goods. There seems to be some uncertainty as to whether expired level 3 and up body armour are controlled goods.

Although BC & AB have controls on body armour, valid PAL holders are exempt. IDK about the other provinces that control body armour.

Better to have and not need than need & not have. It's better to die having body armour never having a need for it, than die because you didn't have it.
