Raleigh has filed for bankruptcy.

Once upon a time this was the biggest bike manufacturer in the world. The developer of the Chopper (I had one).

I thought they were a Canadian Tire brand? Only in Canada it seems the name is owned by CT.
The Canadian Tire Corporation acquired exclusive rights to the Raleigh brand for production and distribution in Canada, reviving its global heritage among loyal riders.

The name was taken by a Spanish company but they provided a statement that “they did everything they could to keep this going” or something to that effect which probably meant licensing the name to Canadian Tire corp in Canada.

Trek dealer told me they cant give mountain bikes away. Loving my new gravel bike.

I have been spoiled by the comfort of riding full squish bikes.
There is no way that i will go back to getting beat up by riding a rigid bike.
Weather permitting i ride daily, on a 700c bike that would be misery IMO.

So far I've only ridden rail trails. Carbon frame, seat post, 42mm tires at 40psi and Isospeed comfort tech absorbs almost all the tiny gravel bumps. 50km rides I feel great. We can all get what we want. I still have my mountain bike if I wanted to really go off road.

Yikes. The Santa Cruz Blur that he rides in that video is $17,000 CAD.

I ride my mountain bike mostly on the road now. Hardtail but front suspension locked as rarely needed. Longest I ride is 30 km but usually stick to 18km route. Jump off curbs some gravel trails but nothing gnarly.
I drool over some of the new bikes when I go to get parts at the local Trek store. Some of those bikes are so light and cost so much I always ask the guy where is the motor for that price. He still gives me a break on the parts I buy.
