Anyone here a cyclist?

One last ride in December finished off another great year of cycling. Again, a few near misses and only one "involuntary dismount".
Finished up at 10,025 kms which was almost as much as my truck. The 14 year old Trek is held together with band-aids but survived another season.

Haven't enjoyed bicycles for about 5 years. Love riding but life got in the way. Picked this up a few weeks ago. Looking forward to getting back into it with more time to ride.

I was going to brag about my 4,200 km, but will go hide.
Well done!

Wife needs a new mtb and she’ll fit either a small/medium frame so I’m either going to gift her my pristine ‘08 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp Elite or find a used hard tail that we can share with decent specs that won’t break the bank (not finding much so far).

I like my Trek Rosco hardtail. Pretty decent specs/price and I saw a few on marketplace while I was looking for one so they crop up occasionally.

Trek store owner told me the full suspension mtb market is dead. They cant give them away. They just sit on the dealer floor. Good discounts on them before Christmas. Little deals on gravel bikes. Perhaps they took market share from mtb's.

Have you looked at the offerings from Decathlon? They are reasonably priced, and they have a sale on.

I haven't. Never heard of the Rockrider bikes.

They are not well known, I haven't tried their bicycle but I've bought bike stuff from there and is decent enough. If you ride daily or a long distance weekend warrior, maybe it wouldn't work. For the average cyclist I think they would be okay. I think @JC99 bought one of their bikes.

I like Decathlon as they have a lot of what MEC has but at much down to earth prices.

Edit: they have closed most of their physical stores, so you can't see them in person.

Decathlon is very popular in Europe.

It definitely looks like FS is less common these days if my local trail is accurate but for my old joints it still might be the way to go.

For Decathlon, I believe they have shut down most of their bricks and mortar stores outside of Quebec. If so, online only and then one will need the skills and basic tools to assemble and sort out the bike at home or pay someone else...

Other than that I have been a fan. Low end stuff was usually crap but once you moved up the line a bit it has been decent and a good deal...
