any ideas were I can get this tool?

There are tools for this? And all this time I've been risking life and limb with the compressed air method

I have to ask why? Been working on bikes for thirty plus years never used one. Use an air nozzle. Have a light hand though they will fly otherwise. Remove banjo insert rubber coned air nozzle. Just a slight puff of compressed air and viola pistons pop right out.

Yep, what they said. Save your money. Hold the caliper in a rag so the pistons don't fly across the garage.

I wish but don't have access to air.

I usually use small channel locks with a bit of tape on the end of them. Just was looking for the dedicated tool.

I am not actually advocating it because every time I do it (wrong, of course) the pistons fire out of the bores with a deafening crack and they ricochet off the driveway. The tool actually seems attractive to me

HAHA maybe turn down the pressure or just tap the handle quickly??

Bang on...

Just stuff a shop rag in the caliper so the piston doesn't go flying and you'll be fine. No drama necessary. Unless you got money to burn and space in your toolbox I wouldn't bother.

You could also use one of these expansion plugs and some vice grips. About $5
