Wow, it sure wasn’t that much when we went. But of course that was more than 20 years ago.
 
The Rocky Mountaineer is pretty nice level of travel for a North American train , you can take a regular via rail ride and slum it for a lot less . Essentially the same view , but lesser food and cheaper drinks .
