    Soccer/football thread 2022

Been watching footy less and less lately with a newborn joining the family. Just highlights whenever I get the chance. The standard of refereeing/VAR has been shocking in the Premier League from the snippets I've seen. Watched some of the Rugby WC and was (pleasantly) surprised at the competence...

    Right of way, Wrong?

Here's a good article on the topic. Q&A is for AB but I think same applies to ON as well. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/drive/mobility/article-who-has-the-right-of-way-at-a-two-way-stop-sign/

Tuono owners, traditional sport tourers ,fairings and wind noise

Most bikes I've owned have been naked bikes. Some I could ride 140 km/h+ very comfortably and others had me feeling like a sail at 120 km/h. In this respect, the best was the GSX-S750, the worst was the Ducati Scrambler. Ergonomics play a part. The riding position on the GSXS had me leaning...

So happy for Zarco. After so many podiums, finally a MotoGP win! Awesome.

    csbk rule changes

@Priller good point. It would be nice if this spot had stands. I really enjoyed hanging out at the top of the hill and watching the fast riders fly through there / seeing their lines through the last few turns. Shannonville is great for spectators. Haven't been to RAD Torque Raceway yet.

    csbk rule changes

Interesting changes! Round 3 in Edmonton means I get to see some of the action! :) How come Calabogie isn't on the calendar this year? (Edit: just realized it wasn't on the 2023 calendar either, last was 2022.)

    Hilariously bad suzuki marketing

It would appear that it's already here - the GSX-8S - both models are currently being sold by dealers for MY2023, not sure about MY2024.

    Hilariously bad suzuki marketing

The quickshifter they have fitted on the latest GSX-S1000/GT/Katana is super slick. I do like the styling and colour scheme on that Katana, but not the 12L fuel tank and sticker price. Nothing wrong with repackaging a legendary motor in my opinion - it's tried and tested - some value bulletproof...

    Bikes you want to try

Bikes I'd like to try and would consider owning (haven't been able to test ride any yet because of priorities in life): Moto Guzzi V7 Suzuki GSX-8S Triumph Street Triple R KTM 890 Duke R Aprilia RS660 Bikes I'd like to try out of interest but likely wouldn't buy (unless I win the lottery)...

Has the city lost it's mind...

I don't get why high risk offenders like this guy are let back out on the streets with the police having to inform the public that he is very likely to commit another violent or sexual offence. It's depressing to see this time and time again, wondering which innocent person's life will be...

    Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Yeah, a few days after "for the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy" he brings them right back into the spotlight. As a self-proclaimed feminist and proponent for gender equality, showing up with the son to Barbie, and the daughter to Oppenheimer appeals to...

    COVID and the housing market

Can't speak for Calgary, but having shopped around for a house in Edmonton and the GTA in recent years, the biggest difference I see is supply of new homes. There's a lot of new development in all directions beyond the ring road in Edmonton. It seems to me that newcomers are generally settling...

    2019 Scrambler Icon - review

Agree on wind - stock handlebars (high and wide), and no wind protection, you're a sail. With Mustang seat (lower than stock) and lower bars, should be better. Found the Mustang seat more forgiving than stock - 6-8 hours on a given day was doable, couldn't do more than 2-3 hours on stock. I've...

    Selling on kijiji....

I just remembered... When we arrived at his place, he had prepped little snack packs for my wife and I for the drive back, fresh fruit, granola bars, crackers, juice, water etc... Shows you the kind of person he is. Don't get discouraged - there's some good people out there browsing on Kijiji as...

    Selling on kijiji....

I've met some real jerks and some really cool people through selling on Kijiji. Bikes, parts and gear. Personally, I would go ahead and safety it as it makes it easier to sell, and I wouldn't ask for a deposit - I'd just sell to the first person that meets my target selling price. Last bike I...

    Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Even worse than buses, though less frequent, are fire trucks. Any time a fire alarm goes off in one of those condos, and there isn't enough room off the ROW, the fire truck occupies the lane and essentially stops traffic in that direction. Got stuck a couple of times on Queen's Quay when I used...

2023 MotoGP Discussion (No Links - Contains Spoilers!)

I feel like all sports streaming platforms are getting worse... I subscribed to DAZN to watch European soccer games towards the end of last season on a monthly subscription (on a promotion at a discounted rate). I cancelled once the tournament ended, and received a confirmation email of the...
