Torque wrench on sale

Thanks to RFD for this..

I have this one from years back. This is a decent price.

The range on that is a little high for most applications on a motorcycle. Most oil drain plugs are about 20-25 ft-lbs. I think mine is 15-100 or 150 ft-lbs. and that does almost everything I need it to.I think they are more accurate when used in mid range rather than the upper and lower ends of their limits.

I have the little brother version of this torque wrench too. A sale on that one would be better true.

The torque wrench I actually use the most is a 1/4” drive 250 inch pounds (about 20 foot pounds). Everyone should have one of those. It’s the small fasteners that you have to be the most careful with.

Ducati single sided swingarm wheel nut needs 170 lb ft, so you need something like this one for that. Also much easier to do car lug nuts with the better leverage. I have a older Maximum with this spec. Keep the receipt even though it says lifetime warranty - some stores require it which makes no sense. Especially for the ones with the "Maximum" wording that can wear off.

Thanks for posting this!

Photocopy the receipt - the thermal printing may disappear by the time you need it

When I exchanged mine they never asked for the receipt. I guess it depends on the store or who is working the customer service counter that day.

I’ve got one of these and have been using it regularly for 5-7 years.

No issues and I just assume the torque settings are right as a wheel has never fallen off. I do need/want a smaller version though.

Something in the 10-50/80ftlb range.

Quite correct.

Every rider turning their own wrenches should own a ¼" socket and ratchet set, and a ¼" torque wrench.

On a related note, do you get your torque wrench recalibrated? If so, where do you take it?

Agree if all you have is paper, but I order online and end up with 4 copies:
- one in the Canadian Tire web site: my history goes back to 2022
- one in my email when I place the order
- one on paper when I pick up my order
- detailed list of items purchased in my monthly CT Mastercard statement

The way they give out CT Money these days with all the bonus offers and for even paying bills with their no-fee credit card account, it makes no sense to pay cash or use any other credit card for those things. 1% of your property tax adds up quick.
