In my book she gets some brownie points for not spewing the usual rhetoric when she got the face plant from the boys in blue.
Still thinking the she isn't very pleasant to have to to deal with tho.
Do you ever wonder how they would present themselves on a dating site?

Radio archives relating to the April 30 crash have evaporated. Archives are available before and after but not Apr 30. Probably SIU dropping the cloak of silence over everything so they can control the narrative.

The aircraft are being used to keep us safe. They caught a rider doing 136 on the 401 at 13:00 on a sunny dry day out near Oxford with no other vehicles in sight. Oh the horror. I feel safer now.

According to the ''New Cam'' Kerry Whatsisname the threshold for HTA 172 in a section of highway where the limit has been raised to 100 kmh will remain at 150kmh. So HTA 172 is 50 over except 40 kmh in an 80 kmh or lower zone and now 40 over in a 110 kmh zone as well. Any bets on when they cut to the chase and just make it 40 kmh over across the board?

They have to somehow justify the existent of an OPP aircraft. Planes and pilots aren't cheap you know. Somebody has to pay the bills.
Next will be Tinted Widows "Awareness" Week!

If anyone wants to see a good interaction with law enforcement, and a petty tyrant getting served, take a look at the video that dropped this morning on the "Audit the Audit" Youtube channel. It also features an auditor who is worth the name and was actually performing a service, rather than the usual semi-SovCit trash you frequently see on the 'net.

Is that the guy handing it to an OPP officer for dangerous driving?

No, it's an audit of security at an FAA building, in the US. I rarely see these "auditors" really do anything constructive. They're typically just out to antagonize. But this guy got a report about someone being basically tossed out when trying to make a FOI request, so he went to investigate.

That guy is not too bad most of those audit clip content creators only claim to fame is that the officials that they encounter are even dumber that the guy holding the camera.
Sadly they never upload the interactions where they run across someone informed.

OPP has initiated MAS (Mandatory Alcohol Screening) across the board for all GTA roads they patrol. (What are their boundaries for "GTA" anyway?)
Everyone stopped for whatever reason by an OPP officer will be issued a demand for breath sample on the spot no matter if the officer suspects drinking or not and in addition to addressing the reason for the stop.

I can understand their desire to reduce the ever increasing incidents of DUI charges and alcohol involved accidents but this is a step too far IMO. Wonder how long before there's a Charter of Rights & Freedoms challenge?

For that you want the Van Balion or Team Skeptic channel on YouTube. They mostly cover SovCits but also the occasional misinformed auditor, as well. They both tend to call out when the original poster of a video cuts out the stuff that shows them in a bad light.

Here's one lawyer that deals a lot with DUI's that believes this will stand up to challenges in court. Cynical me wonders who bought Drager stock as we will be buying a crapton of straws. About 250K tickets a year, straws are in the ballpark of $1 each. Some people will get more than one ticket but some will get none so lets call it $250K a year on disposable plastic straws. JT will $#!t a brick. In all seriousness, this a good application of those crappy paper monstrosities we are forced to use. Used for a few seconds in a moist environment and then garbage.

CCLA has their panties in a bunch as expected. When they were headed for years by someone that drove drunk and killed someone, I would expect nothing less.

"“I think that we will lose (a legal challenge) on the basis that it’s constitutionally sound and these cases at the Supreme Court of Canada and Ontario Court of Appeal, always seem to side in favour of the victim and the public because everybody has had it (with drunk driving),” he said."

Well, I for one will be thinking twice about having that second beer at a buddy's house or the BBQ get together if I'm driving/riding home and I suppose, that's the result they're hoping for.

It's likely to be upheld for the same reason that RIDE checks were; they test everyone.

The reporting on the news about this was pretty funny. Almost hysterical, "Drunk driving accidents are up 30%, we need to cut that down" 2 mins layer "all traffic accidents are up 30%" lol

I have no issue with them checking everyone they stop, especially considering how badly you have to be driving to get pulled over in the first place.

Wouldn't it be a good idea for them to make some laws first. Pavement lines are suggestions and cautions. Obedience is not mandatory. Same for turn signals.

Has anyone asked Dougie if they're planning massive retesting considering the written and road test scams?

We have enough laws and minimal enforcement. More laws without more enforcement just wastes more money and time with no positive effect.

Cleaning up drive tests shpuld be a priority. Easy to do. Both testing near your home and a cooling off period between tests that increases as you fail. Some people are taking the test dozens of times before they pass. At that point, I assume the pass is the examiner too afraid to ride with them again so they pass them. After the second fail, it should be at least a year between tests as obviously you need more practice and instruction.
