Those would be great in warmer months but difficult in a foot of snow covered grass.
Good question, let's say 3-5k and go from there.
Wasn't @timtune considering selling some of his snowbikes? They could be a good start for a winter capable version. One under you, one under the bucket.

I’d probably look for a mid Honda Foreman, maybe around 2010 or later.
Hondas ATVs are more agricultural, with lower power engines designed to be easier on fuel and dependable, kind of the ATV version of a TW200 farm bike. As such you don’t see many living the hard life of the trail and mud smashing crowd.
Nope. They hang on the wall so they're not even taking up valuable floor space.

Agreed, but larger than I want. A utility ATV will have front and rear racks that will suit me fine. As I get firewood daily in the winter. To be perfectly honest I probably don't need anything now but as I get older having these things will become a benefit.

You will be hard pressed to find a a 2010+ say rancher 420 for that price unless it has very high km in today's market which is crazy.
Yes, well noted. In no rush, we'll see if the market calms down.
I may use the money for more implements for the tractor and try again next year.

I've gone through a LOT of small displacement ATVs over the years, and my favourite by far is still the Suzuki Quadrunner 250 or King Quad 300 - the models with the 5 speed semi-automatic, 3 range transmissions with manual locking front differential.
No other small cc ATV will plow better or get through rough terrain like these beasts... putting them in "super low" gear with locked front differential you can tow a small house away with them!
And you can still find them for under $2500 in good condition. Something to consider if you don't want to spend more on a Can-Am or Polaris etc.

It is larger than the OP is looking for and the manual may be an issue for the wife IF she will even use the ATV....
But this is right in the wheelhouse of a Kei Truck (in this case not licensed/insured for on-road use). The heated/air condition cab is a huge bonus...

Personally, I’d buy a better used tractor . Bigger used Kobota or Mahindra , or cheap JD . Go see the nice big dealer 4KMs west of Erin off 25.
You can drive through 2ft of snow easy , pull a small trailer for firewood , skid logs , push a plow if desired or run a blower . I’m a reformed farmer and rural dweller , a decent mid size tractor will do anything a quad will do plus 278 other things . And 40yrs from now it’s still running around the property working just fine .
Don’t go get firewood everyday , put a nice wall outside the back door under a sloped roof , it’s dry and not snow covered and accessible.

Maybe being a city slicker I don’t understand….OP has a tractor…would another tractor also be insufficient for the job same as current tractor?
I just assumed a tractor would be great for this task…but
