We had friends that owned a Golden retriever and it seemed to be going off mentally. The owner was an elderly lady that was showing her Alzheimer condition more openly.
I wondered if the dog was reacting to the inconsistencies of the owner.
We just put our ten yr old boxer / dingo cross down this morning . She developed Cushings disease about a month ago , looks like the symptoms have been there awhile and we just didn’t really see it , then she had a stroke a few days ago and there was no coming back from that . It’s a hard day over here .

Carolina dingo is a Native American breed from the southern US . It’s been around for a couple hundred yrs but not in the Australian dingo sense . They have an odd black spot on the back of their tongue . We adopted this dog at one yr old in Georgia , the DNA test my wife had run said Boxer/blue tick hound/Carolina Dingo . Odd mix but those southern Americans , well … and she did have the unique black tongue spot .
This girl followed me home this week , eleven week old golden retriever . Mom was an English cream and dad an American red . She’s been hilarious to watch figure out stairs and being scared by pinecones . Happy house again .

We just signed up Lucy for training at 'Beyond the Leash'.
She's coming up on 1 year, and she's becoming unbearable recently. Barking, grabbing things (toys, shoes, etc), and just overall annoying.
We love her, and she's a great dog, but obviously we're not providing her with the proper tools to be more calm and happy so we hope this will work out.

Classes are 90% owner training, 10% dog training. Still worthwhile in most cases. Try to take the wife and kids if you can. It works better when all the owners get training.
Fred never used to jump up but he has started to occasionally when we get home. As his feet land on my shoulders, that could be an issue for some visitors and we need to get him back to calm arrivals.

So I've heard / read. A few neighbours on our street took their dogs there and all highly recommend his school...but do state that he's very strict and will call you out if you're not doing what you're told.
