As always happens after I buy, it's gone down but it's a long-term buy for me.
You'll do fine with that. Those IT companies that it's heavily tilted towards aren't going anywhere over the long run and I feel there's some really good upside in there.

Like clockwork, here's your sell signal:

Buy back in when he declares TOTAL ANNIHILATION... again...
I rarely go in and out. I am roughly even from when you sold a week or two ago. I'm up ~36% from when PP sold at one of the market peaks early last year. Could I have gotten more by trying to time Trumps tweets? Maybe? I could also have done much worse. My nod to timing is try to pile in more money for every 5% the portfolio drops. I tried to wait for 10% drop last year and things turned around before I got there (-8.6% was peak drop) so I missed the opportunity.

High beta stocks.

FWIW, the day you say sell, my portfolio pops by >2%.

Yes. "Buy low, sell high", is how the saying usually goes.

When Trump Always Chickens Out, you sell into the rally:

When he loses his chit and threatens to blow up the world, you buy into the dips.

This has repeated so often, wonder why the market doesn't just ignore him.

Some people are still very emotional about investing. Far more people Buy High, Sell Low, than the obverse. I assume some subset of the smart people are auto-trading based on his tweets. It could be quite profitable but you can also take a beating. I know I don't understand people enough to consistently win that swing. I suspect the swings are transferring money from normal people to much richer people every time he tweets.

Oh, 100% insider trading.

And if you get caught, no problem, your friend in the high place will bail you out:

Guaranteed he'll threaten to launch the nukes again soon, but only after he and his buddies have sold off.

You can get mad about it, or join in on his market manipulation. 🤷‍♂️

I don't know how to feel about that. Imo, he deserves to have the most as he has probably done the most to change the course of multiple industries. That being said, that much concentration of wealth is not helpful for anyone (including him) and it is mostly locked up and unavailable for any use (unless you borrow against it but banks lending hundreds of billions against speculative stocks risk bankruptcy). Was the quest for 1T a vanity project just to see if he could? He could have maintained control of votes to control the companies with a much lower valuation on the Class B shares so the companies would function with no change, he would exist with no change, but his net worth would be vastly lower.
