The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Wow. I'd burn more than that in gas just getting there, but if I didn't already have one that'd be an awesome deal. Someone go grab it! lol

Same I've got a very similar unit in my garage.

Wife: Great that you sold the bike...I notice you haven't sold anything else for a motorcycle...
Me: I love you so much
Wife: Oh for eff's sake...

That's right lol. They know.

Over here yesterday (we were in the garage):

Me: Only 4 bikes, not bad!
Her: You have one in the house.
Me: Ok 5.
Her: And one at my parents.
Me: Ok 6.
Her: And one in Italy.
Me: I don't have a Harley right now though.
Her: Let's call it 8?
Me: Let's call it 8.

And this is why we keep separate bank accounts lol

Always read that the VFR1200 is worse than the 800 if almost every way.

My buddy had one a while back and liked his so I guess it all comes down to personal preference and comfort.

Apparently these also have fairly low range for a sport touring.

Yeah tiny gas tank but they did make it a bit larger after the first couple years (still not great range though).

Ridiculous bike. 120 kph in first gear - too heavy. Rode the automatic version at Rock the Red. Kid rode the standard transmission - we both agreed the bike was ridiculous. Honda should have left well enough alone with VFR800....that one is still a desirable ride.

It's now down to $3500, so I thought, what the heck, let's take a look at the insurance rates...

$2,161/yr.

It's almost 2.5x more expensive than my 2017 Triumph Bonneville T120 lol

The bike might be reasonably priced... but apparently owning it isn't.

Update: He told me to just change my car, truck, trailer, and all my other bikes over to State Farm and then I could get a better rate....
Sure, I'll get right on that.

having all your stuff with one agent does seem to save some money. Plus you seem to get better service.

I don't know how old you are, but that is expensive and I wouldn't be interested either. I'm not sure I'd buy that bike at $3500 either. Seems like a tough-to-sell model.

I think the listing is gone and my toy fund is depleted but. This one wouldn’t be on my radar simply due to the lack of clutch. Sure, there are times I’d rather not have one but, more times than not, I’d rather have it. It’s part of the experience of riding IMO.

That's well over the $1/cc/yr threshold I'm willing to pay for insurance, even for a SuperSport.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Co-Operators quotes I got online. They're about the same as what I pay at Desjardins but only bundling the cars. I should get additional discounts for bundling my home and umbrella liability as well, but need to actually call them for that.

Me too.
I bought a bike earlier this week and current provider needed > $1600.
Online quote from cooperators was barely a grand (without bundling) for better coverage and smaller deductibles.
I'm going to the co op office in a couple minutes to confirm (and sign up).
I have 2 really good co-op advisers I can connect you with.
Let me know.
