Scrambler sold in 24h since I posted it on the weekend so the bike is now gone and the new owner texted me last night saying he can't believe how great the bike is (now I'm regretting the sale).
It took him 3 years but MP did the impossible and we are proud of you lol.
I find people have a mental block at anything over 5, and again over 10k.
$5k and under they treat it like play money almost and aren't very picky at all, but at the same time, won't spend an extra $1k more for something nicer... even if the $5k bike will need $1k to get safetied... they're silly like that.
Similarly, $11k bike worth $11k, you'll sit on it for months waiting for a buyer.
$10k bike worth $11k, gone in sixty seconds.
If you're avoiding "character" because of high maintenance costs, you should get some quotes for the VFR valve adjustment so you're not surprised when the time comes. 16 valves across 2 cylinder heads will be more expensive than a V-twin, and about twice as much work as a P-twin.
Never rode the Tenere, but loved the engine character of the MT-07 when I tried one. Not fast, but fun - reminded me of my Hawk.

I put 45,000km on my 2016 Multistrada 1200S and my maintenance costs over that distance/time was $800 (the desmo/belt/filter service at 32,000km which was done at Kens). Nothing broke, always dependable, friggin loved that bike and still wish I had one (character, overall finishings, and the fact that it did everything beautifully being the reasons)
Add another to the list….BMW F series. Lots of nice pieces out there.
Everyone in my life outside of GTAM has said the same thing ‘so when you buying the next bike?’
‘Taking a few month break’
‘Hahahahahaha sure..whatever you say fella!’

Just an fyi to check with your insurance as they'll roll you back to "new rider/first bike" rates if you go for a certain time without having continual bike insurance (IIRC mine was ~3 months).

Wow. That’s the same as my bike, I bought mine 1 year old with 18000km, in 2017 - came with Hepco bags & top case, Madstat shield, heated grips and 2 new in box seats for $5500.
Been the best bike I’ve owned, not the nicest, but the best. Tires, brake pads, oil/filter and chsin/sprocket is I’ll she’s ever needed. Still on original oe battery.
I ride it like I stole it, put her away wet, never winterized.
@mimico_polak, if you get one, I’ll donate a new in box OE Suzuki short guy seat.
