The Toronto Motorcycle and Powersport Show - Feb 20-22 @ Exhibition Place

I have a bit more free time this year, so I was thinking about doing a longer trip to the U.S. maybe even heading down to the Dragon area. That said, given some recent events, I’d prefer to hold off for now (even though last year’s trip was completely issue-free).

Instead, I’d love to join Shane’s solstice/equinox ride, and maybe spend a few days riding in Quebec. I’ve heard there are some pretty nice roads out there.

This year I told a buddy I would help him hit the 1600km mark on the solstice ride, so I think it will be just me and him, since it's hard to keep a consistent pace for 17hrs with more than 2 people (I tried it 4 years in a row and failed every time). He rode with me last year and he covered 1400km and could have easily done more since we had a few extneded stops.

So if you're up for it, I'll go on a couple rides before the Solstice one to scout out the routes for him, which means a ride out to Calabogie area and another ride up towards the Bunny Trail - both in late May to mid -June and looking for the smoothest pavement and fastest curvy roads..

I miss riding in the US and love the Appalachian states. Quebec has a lot of great scenery and fun roads - highly recommended.

A lot of words to say that all the nerves in your butt are dead :). Sounds cool.

I've done the IB1000 before, and will probably do a similar run also. Just need a better bike for it than the Scrambler...that thing isn't going to help me make 1600km in a single day without some serious modifications.

Was planning on joining @shanekingsley solstice ride but if that's not happening I'm hoping to at least do 1 - 2 runs with him as I enjoy the pace/trips.

Just keep building that Africa twin budget.

Oh, you're coming with us @Relax to RDT?

Most of the same. Thursday rides, Wednesday burgers, Gap, track days, courses. Lots of 2 wheel fun!
My plans for this coming year.

Same as Aens, surprise surprise?!

Gap trip
Trackday in August at rdt

Pennsylvania ride with my cousin the week after we get back from the Gap.

Probably dirtbike in Ohio at a place with a massive hill that's all over Facebook vids and YouTube. Crazy horse I think?

Maybe northern Quebec for dirtbikes.

Corduroy enduro
Ganaraska
Greenes Mountain
Haliburton

Since we talking africa twins...anyone ride a BMW or KTM with the automatic? Is it anywhere near as good as the honda DCT?

Ducati has 0% APR on some models. Maybe you could consider a baby Multistrada (aka V2)
I’m no baller unfortunately!

You recommend me to go from a fairly high maintenance bike to a MUCH MORE maintenance sensitive bike?

I’d love a Multistrada but those bikes scare the hell out of me with maintenance costs.

We are on our way home from show setup. Will be drawing the winners and announcing in about 3 hours.

Last chance to answer the question for the draw.

Plans for this year is possibly hit the EAST coast. Hopefully timing allows for it.

If not, a few rides around Ontario will do.
