Hitler gave up on invading Britain after the Luftwaffe was decimated in the Battle of Britain, 14 months before America entered the war.

Then again, you do go on about how you lived in the US for years, so it's no surprise you parrot their narrative about how they saved everything and everyone......twice.

Agreed to a point, though the Brits are also often guilty of overstating their own importance while minimising the efforts of the 'colonies'. They're also bad for poking fun at the French and Italians for their predilection to surrender without the nuance that both of those countries suffered vastly more casualties than the UK in the First World War, both in total numbers and as a percentage of the population, and that was still fresh in the minds. And the fact that without the English Channel, Britain would have been rolled up in the advances of 1940 just as the French were, *and* without the French to provide a rearguard, the withdrawal at Dunkirk would never have been possible.

It could also be argued that without the US, much of Europe would have ultimately become Soviet, as the failures of 1941 meant Germany was inevitably going to be defeated in the east regardless of what happened in the west, especially with such a gang of idiots in charge in Berlin.

Still, the US profited massively from the war (as did Canada, to be fair) and it set the table for the next 56 years of prosperity and hegemony until September 11 caused the country to lose (or be manipulated into losing) its collective mind and begin self-destruct mode. But that's a thread for another day...
 
Since we are down the rabbit hole , Hitler lost the war on Britton by doing what the Brits did . He started out only hitting military targets , airbases and arms plants . The Brit’s hit a bunch of civilian targets , mostly by mistake and Adolph decided , game on let’s burn London. While he’s busy doing that , England gets a chance to rebuild airbases and military installations. If was that breather that kept them in the game .
This is per the tour guide at the Churchill war museum in London . I think she had a good briefing on how things went .

This is definitely my experience. I have a few buddies who share my love of watches, and my wife calls them my 'watch gang' with far less respect than I would like. She clearly doesn't think we're particularly tough for a gang. Their wives seem to respond similarly...

(I've heard people say the same about motorcycles, but my experience was better in that department. They never cared what kind of motorcycle - probably could have been on a CB400 and had the same effect - but it did draw some interest back when I was trying to draw interest.)
