Heated Socks 12V - I love mine and they have held up well for 14 years!A little chilly riding to and from the picket line today. No more than 2 - 3°C. I took the long way home, two hours, my toes are cold, but other than that, entirely comfortable.

Thanks Shane, I'll give some consideration, but usually my feet don't become cold. I'm also trying to avoid having to add anymore damn moto gear!
i have a pair of battery powered ones i used maybe 3 rides, will probably end up collecting dust. Yours for a burger, or a can or two in the garage.

Well, the Harley wouldn't start today. Guess that starter drinks more juice than the battery had in it. Weird because I've been riding it more days than not, but, at least it died at home and not out somewhere.
I'm charging it overnight and I'll put it on the load tester tomorrow. Either way I'll probably run my spare battery (a lithium) in it for the winter.
Anyway, by the time I realized it wouldn't start, I had already spent all the time gearing up, getting the audio equipment for a motovlog set up, etc, so, now what?
Ended up taking the electric bike (Talaria MX5) out again, just down to Runnymede and Dundas, to pick up a used GoPro 12. First time riding the Talaria on the road, like a degenerate, but I stuck to residential roads, like only a semi-degenerate.

Brine trucks were out all across highway 7 and 35/115 yesterday. But saw a hard core rider on a Ninja headed east onto 7 about 10 minutes later. 
The last few weeks have been heavy work wise and once the beemer was in possession, wanted to get it certified before the new government process was in place. To trailer or ride? Weather conditions vs conference calls and working with a shop owned by a semi retired owner that can take or leave a job depending on his mood and how good the coffee is in the morning, I strapped in to bring it Thursday morning.
Mix of rain, snow, cold and trailer with wheel chalk unavailable, the start wasn’t appealing but, my determination was.
Having a carb airhead with two fuel petcocks to turn on requires better brain function in the morning.
Digging out gear to suit conditions was more of a challenge. Everything seemed to go well except gloves. New to me bike means no plug in for the heated gloves and the thermal gloves seemed to hole up with the socks I can’t find.
Let’s go with these nifty shorties and the back roads will be fine.
These conditions are not ideal to get to know a bike. Things are intuitive but, there are still things you need to learn. Oh, and forgetting which way your chin vent on the helmet opens or closes isn’t something you want to guess while on the road. Visor, glasses well fogged, open visor to allow rain to wash away fog and leave large rain drops. Would removing my glasses improve what I see in front of me? Where do I put them while I’m riding? Carry on!
Arrive safe and sound. Smiles replaced by reassuring thoughts this will be the last ride of the year. My hands are frozen. The shop is warm and coffee hot.

Looks like the riding is done at the cottage.
This all came down after about 8 pm last night. Our car is stuck in a mud hole our guy never filled. Apparently all the plows in our area are stuck in ditches, and highway 11 full of cars in ditches.
And sadly, our other car is up here with snow tires not yet installed and in the city…

the same dummy who drove on his winters for an entire summer - unfortunately, not this past summer. Honestly I meant to do it last week, checked weather forecast and it seemed fine. Didn’t plan to drive my car up north but wife changed plans and took it herself and here we are.Who doesn't install snow tires by mid November?
Here’s that dummy’s car. They’re calling for twice as much snow by tomorrow.
I guess we were lucky. Few flying flakes and sunshine with a mean wind. Got out for I think the final ride of the season

Yeah they got slammed. HWY 11 was closed from Washago and north, with people ditching cars etc.
The snow here pretty much melted already....
Why is this? Winter comes every year. Learning to drive in the winter is easy. Slow down. That's it.
