Wassup with FB ?

It was very broken. Now it is fixed for most. When broken, everybody was logged out and told their passwords were wrong. Password reset didn't work.

Yeah, it was borked for about an hour and a half.

I was convinced I had been hacked (despite a strong 25 random character password) and was furiously trying to change my password, but then 2FA wasn't working, and it wouldn't even recognize any of my recovery codes. I was in full spin for a period of time.

I have plenty of FB enemies (the joys of being a community manager in quite a few big groups and regularly dealing with "i dON't lIkE thE ruLEs anD yoUR a naZI foR enFOrciNG thEM!" crybabies), so I see hacking/phishing/password change attempts regularly, so that's immediately where my mind went. Only once my sister texted me and asked why she was getting this weird error when she was tryign to log in did I clue in, google it, and discover that someone had tripped over a server power cord somewhere and it wasn't just my account.

Or the Interac meltdown of 2022. I keep a couple of hundred dollar in my wallet because Talbot's Theorem so I wasn't affected by it, but everyone else was bouncing off the rev limiter.
