COVID and the housing market

It is just a caboose no where to park it and will cost a fortune to move bad deal.

Agree. Crap reporting as usual. It's not cheap real-estate. It has no land nor running water. It is an expensive garden shed that will cost you many thousands to move.

The caboose in general could have been an interesting housing solution, but the timing was all off....

We phased them out here starting in I believe 89 and then through the very early 90s. I imagine they are all mostly gone today but at some point there was a big surplus. Now decades later we have the entire tiny house trend (which in the end are just fancy trailers IMO, re-branded to drop the negative connotation) that all those surplus cabooses could have filled.

Biggest problem I can see is how much they weigh no good way to transport them or put them in a suitable site

And now the listing agent will factor in the 120M% over asking into their selling average. On average we sell at XXXXXX% over asking price with our unique marketing approach!

Like being in the top 1% in Canada!! sell 1 house in Forest Hill , sell 32 houses in North Battleford Sask. whos on top??

Sold over asking….

So much crap in that article. "It is a waste of the buyers time". Not if you are a good agent and have a solid selling price in mind. It was obviously going to sell for 1.2+ no matter what the sign said. It was just listed at 1.15 days before. The article says it last sold for 990 in 2016. That would be one of the lowest appreciating houses I have heard of. In another example of craptastic reporting by 2016 they mean 2021. House was a quick polish and flip. Buyer will probably regret this soon enough.

Yikes - the bidding wars are spreading. I'm trying to buy a place in the north this afternoon, never seen a bidding war up there -- today's deal has 10 offers.

The GTAM curse MM. You told us about the land of gold and now some of us are up there competing against you. I am not amongst them.

A friend sold a ~2300 sq ft subdivision house in the GTHA 12 years ago for 500K. New owners renovated it (including opening up walls and eifs exterior) and now it's listed for 1.7. No buyers yet. We'll see where it lands. Some really cool things and some strange things in that house.

We all have the stories , buddies house sold 3.5 yrs ago for 1.8m , just sold again for 2,900 . He's moaning " i left a million dollars on the table" . Yeah well you didn't the wife that was in the house and all the crap that went with that, so the cost of getting out started at 1 mil. Eat it.

Terra has 'fresh cut' christmas trees 10ft at $259.00 , for a tree you throw out in 3 weeks . Your Mc mansion with 16ft ceilings needs 10-12ft trees.
And we have people lining up for Christmas dinner at shelters. We are so off side its KooKoo down here.
