Poop in the mail

Did I miss a point? A basic digital prostate exam just requires a rubber glove and dab of lube. I had a colonoscopy a number of years ago and other than it being very uncomfortable I don't recall any anesthetics.
Did you drive yourself or something? I'm not a drug seeker but I've never had a colonoscopy without anesthetic. And based on two bad experiences, I'm not sure I want to try skipping it

Colonoscopy is often fentanyl plus medazolam for conscious sedation.

10yrs back I asked out a beauty from my gym and she turned me down (she had a boyfriend....who I later met....he was a douche).
Fast forward to last year when we moved 45min away, had a baby, and got a new family doctor. I go to the new doctor for the first time to pick up paperwork for the kiddo and guess who's the nurse at the doctors office? Yup, still-hot gym girl.
Now in my 40's and pretty soon due for these tests. Are nurses in the room when these tests are done? "You could have fingered this every week if you had have just said yes years ago!"

getting old is ******

A relative of a buddy has had two colonoscopys and for both he was put under.
(I know, 'cos I picked him up as a favor to buddy).
Then earlier last year I heard that one of Douggie's cut backs meant that the anesthetic for the colonoscopy will be a "patient pays" service. I haven't done a 'scopy and am hoping that this nickle-and-dime cut back to health services is not in effect.
From a male point of view, why is a breast exam free for females but a male prostate PSA test is chargeable IIRC if the PSA is over some magic number the test becomes free.

Regardless, $30 once a year won't kill me but skipping the test might.

At least we dont have to put out balls in a vise to squish them flat. A friend made a breast imaging coil that worked in an open coil MRI. Women just lay on their stomach and let them dangle instead of the vise. Only two open coil MRI's in NA though so the vise still dominates.

I was put under for my colonoscopy (Thankfully)

Going through my ordeal, I had more cameras shoved up my hoop than I can remember.
There's two different (colonoscopy) tests.
For the "long camera", you'll get sedated, and you may, or may not remember things about it. The test with the short camera / cable, is not as harsh.

Ugh don’t remind me. Past 40 now so apparently I need to go for the ‘finger’ test soon....
It's not that bad - my doc has tiny fingers and she keeps her nails trimmed.

It's my anniversary. Three years today, they removed 80% of my colon.
Don't put that **** off people.
100% for me. There are more of us out there than you'd think, it's not exactly casual conversation.

My experience started in my mid 20's. Don't ignore problems just because you might feel scared or ashamed.

Sounds like between Gary, myself and maybe a few others, we could answer ANY question.

I have breast exams done reg as I have "lumps". Like every 3 months. Honestly cannot wait to have a chance to lop them off. PITChest for everything having literally pounds of fat hanging off your upper body. Yay boobies!

Get yer prosate checked boys, one of the only preventable cancers.

Now that I think back a colleague of mine had about 80% of his colon removed also. Doc said it was stress related. #1 car salesman in Canada for a while, obviously lots of stress. Guy is alive but took 4-6 months off to recover from that.

My MIL just found out Friday that her sister has breast cancer. It’s gone into the lymph nodes on one side.

One breast has a 5cm lump, the other one is 6-7cm. One is being taken off for sure. She’s devastated and obviously both my MIL and wife are in tears each day. I’d love to be able to send the MIL to Poland to be there for her sis, but with COVID it’s not happening.

I know I lucked out. After surgery #1, I wore the bag until things healed up inside. Six months later, my Dr opened me back up and put me back together. Not a whole lot of difference, physically speaking. But, losing the bag certainly brightened up my day(s).

I've been double scoped once.
When they were explaining the results to me I was still so high I couldn't remember what they said.
Had to ask my doctor later, as they sent him a copy.
Poo sticks are preferred but you're only supposed to do them so often before getting scoped.
I used to return them to the doctor's office, and let them send the poo through the mail.
Everything from the kit went into the garbage/recycling.

Apparently, I have a herniated stomach. Not sure if it's better than an ulcer, as the acid reflux is murder.

I'd better check with the doctor and see about getting a kit, as I haven't seen him since before covid.

My wife was so high she ran out of the treatment room to the waiting room to say hi. They quickly grabbed her and took her to the recovery room. Afterwards she asked if she was wearing pants when she came to the waiting room. They printed off a picture of her colon that I slip into cards we give to her parents occasionally. Every time her mom looks at it inquisitively as she tries to figure out what it is and then realizes it's a colon and turns the picture over.
