Well there ain't no wall anymore. The door is wide-open.

They built 47 miles out of the 800 miles promised.

They did build a lot of wall, over 450 miles in the last 4 years. The 47 number is just the portion built where no previous barrier existed. The pic below shows to 'old wall on the right, the tall part is the new wall. The new wall was built to replace 400 miles of various other 'walls and fences'.

Our house was smack in the middle of strawberry and lemon country when I lived in Ventura California. More than 1/2 my community were of Mexican decent, many undocumented. The ones I knew were friendly, loyal, hard working folks that had strong family values. There were lots of DACA kids going to school with my kids - other than being on the poor side of a rich community, they kids had it much better than their parents.

It's not an easy life raising a family under the constant fear of ICE raids, low wages, and grueling work. I never heard complaints, most workers were treated fairly. They worked fields, landscaping, domestic work, and concrete.

I'm a strong believer that DACA kids and those who have worked gainfully for at least a few years ought to have a path to permanent residence and citizenship. I also think there should be stricter rules on deportation, most undocumented Mexicans are decent folk -- but not everyone who scooted across the border is an angel. I'm pretty sure the honest hard working would be happy with that too.

Biden plans to block Keystone XL pipeline expansion on day 1 of his presidency. Alberta won't be happy!

I'd say the current Liberals have done their best to kill off oil expansion in this country. It was probably doomed anyways.

When was Alberta last happy?

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Canada wipe the USA off the safe country list? An immigrant can't claim asylum if they are coming from a safe country. The USA used to be considered safe but now, if they can get to the Canadian border, they can come in with far less hassle.
