Love it! Congrats! If my wife said she was done being a passenger, I'd have that bike in my garage right now.

Do you plan on getting the side cases? The mounting system is much improved over the previous version.

If the 900XR had been more touring friendly i may have just gone for that. I did note that BMW refined this new gen 1kXR to be more toury and less sport monster.

EDIT: and to be honest i'm in a good place to get something cool, so why not!

pssst, i saw a 17' s1000xr @ gp bikes with 9k on the clocks. $12.5

it's a steal!

i plan on getting some sort of cases, haven't decided on OEM or 3rd party. I heard good things about the Givi stuff on the last gen.

appreciate it, i probably liked the Ice Grey (matte) a little more but i want to be seen and this certain has 'pop'.

indeed, it's a new gen so we shall see.

however i wasn't really looking for character. I was looking to splurge on a sporty tourer with all the fixings. There were other bikes in the running but everytime i looked up the 1kXR everyone just raved how it's such a great all rounder.

Stock is fine for now, maybe delete the cat/silencers down the road.

honestly i'm always jamming to tunes anyways so it would have to be a 'loud pipes may save my life' decision and i'm not ready to make that one yet.
 
BMW luggage is integrated and keyed to your bike but that does not matter much now with keyless ride. Purchased with the bike you also get 3 years warranty on them like your bike.
