23 M1 S1000RR $12000/yr

It's bait.
OP wants to come in and throw pretend money around.
No matter what style of forum you are on they appear.
Are you saying he doesn't have a clue about riding motorcycles  never would have guessed it.

I'd just get a Yamaha Niken
(y) how much is your insurance on that one?

... isn't it amazing how insurance companies can come up with a rate for something that never existed before.

Traveller quoted me for 7k, guess they gave me this rate since i got my cars and house with them
why didn't you just start with them?

You're 23 years old, with a house and cars (plural) ?
Either you're an entrepreneurial genius, or its daddy's money.
In any event, spend away...

Or LOTS of debt.

Not necessarily.
We hired a guy a few years ago, he was 19 and just finished a 2 year business degree. We pay our employees pretty decently so within a year of being hired he bought himself a nice house, a fixer-upper but still nice. He’s 23 now, living with his fiancé, has a kid, still has the house and a couple cars.
With people finishing school earlier now, as long as they’re smart with their money it’s not so far fetched of an idea that someone can be in their early 20’s, married and have a house and cars.

? Not every 20-something is broke. Some are born into money (just look at the Porsches, Audis, BMWs buzzing around UW...) and some actually make it.

If this dude has $7K or more to blow on 6-months worth of riding insurance, more power to him.

If you really do have an S1O00RR just be careful. Litre-bikes are not automatic-death machines but they can be pretty unforgiving of mistakes, mistakes born of immaturity, lack of skill, lack of judgement, lack of experience etc.

Whats your definition of "decently"? Because without parents help nobody is affording a house, cars, bikes and $7k per 6 months riding insurance in Toronto at age 23. Actually I doubt anywhere in Canada, especially with a 2 year business degree. I think youve been fooled.

I’m not giving figures but it’s enough for him to buy a house, support a kid and a fiancé on mat leave from her daycare job, have a couple of cars and travel on his vacation time.
Believe it or not, but some business owners actually pay their staff a reasonable wage, encourage them to take vacations, to spend time with their family and give them a share of the profits.
Regardless of what piece of paper he has from a post-secondary institution, he is a valuable member of my team and will be compensated accordingly.
If you haven’t managed to find an employer like that, maybe it’s you who has been fooled.

Lottery winner.

Just so People here know how they are being ripped off by these Insurance Mafia and Goons
Here is the comparison of the same Motorcycle same year in our Neighbor.

Hope this helps. And to the people who will still try to take the corrupt Insurance Mafia’s side GTH.

Says on the bottom of the pic, basic coverage and also 3 discounts applied.

Same area ok, but age, years insured, record and other variables come into play.
The are is New York City
I checked the quote as a New Rider. 0 insured years, 25yo, no Record. Exactly the same data. As I would have filled up for Canadian Market. No change. The Basic Coverage includes 500,000 Liability. Property etc. No collision, no comprehensive.
