My friend got a ticket for it. The cop said if he didn't fix it that his license would be suspended until he did!

Funny enough, my old plate was 4W075.... had it for years, on my bike before my last one (plate vanished with the bike....), i had my plate sucked in to my swingarm, between the tire and swingarm, so it got pretty mangeled... if you try to read the plate, it said: 4VC15.... ;D

Never had issues with that from cops... ;D

Sorry, settles what? You referred to the MTO, but were in fact talking about Service Ontario. I just wanted to make sure you realize they are two different things.
 
My plates are almost all white now and have never had an issue.

They aren't reflective and are really old six digits and have letters then number

CECC (Lindsay jail). I put my big greasy hand print on the back of every plate I made. I figured if some vehicle was getting checked over after a murder or something and they were like "damn, look at this sweet set of prints on this stolen/swapped plate, lets go get him" woulda made for funny story :)

Whenever a friend of anyone in jail ordered a personalized plate we'd all sign the back of it with a sharpie when we were making it :D

Just replaced my faded CRV plates...and as they were less than 6 years old, I got them for FREE!!!!

Must only affect new plates or something because I've seen a lot of newer faded ones while my original plate that was on my first car still looks almost new other than a few bends from numerous accidents.

^^ this. The newer plates (5 years or so) are much more cheaply than the older plates (you can feel the difference just holding them).
