Street Vs. Race Fairings

Towards the end of my R1 "drag bike" build and I am now at a cosmetic point of things. The bike I have now is the 03 Limited Edition R1 with the black and red flames scheme. As I am trying to come up with a scheme to replicate my mustang a little (see pic).

Here is my dilemma. I don't want to pay some ridiculous amount on body work. I just want to keep it simple. Still, I want the bike to look good. It goes plenty fast now.

So, here is the question I am posing. Would it be worth to:

A) repaint my current body work
B) buy a set of street fairings from online that could work with my car theme
C) buy some race body work that I could paint to my liking

Other options?

Pros and cons to each?

Possible places to purchase fairings?
Thanks!

I would probably get a chinese aftermarket fairing company do custom paint them for you (Unless you are a painter) as it would most likely be the cheapest option and you can sell or keep the other fairings.

Not clear if your current bodywork is street or race. If it's street then leave it alone and invest in a set of race bodywork. It's lighter, cheaper to crash and repair and comes off in seconds and in 2 or 3 pieces for maintenance. You know you're gonna need to get to parts quickly when you're at the track.

If it's already race bodywork then repaint it to match your Mustang, if that's what you want.

Don't know why but I think you're in Barrie area. If you are try cheekeebandito. He's in Barrie and does a fine job. He can do the paint, get basic decals made and cearcoat the lot for you.

+1 - totally standup guy. Does great work for a fair price.

I'll have to get a quote from that guy... Planning on doing the bike this July, but if he's in the ballpark I might just hand it off to him to do!

nice ride .. i thought that was your dads ride though?

PS. take me for a ride ? lol ..

Thanks for the great tips.

Correct, the car belongs to my father. As a nice "father daughter" thing I am choosing to make my bike look like HIS car. Hahaha when it goes on the track, I'm the driver. He accepts that I'm faster.
