Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you guys use anything to cover your neck while riding? I used to wear a bandana for soot/smog in the city + protection from small pebbles...but I'd like something that also covers the back of my neck. Is there anything out there that I could use which wouldn't be too hot in the summer?

I'd imagine someone's thought of something by now...right? Some sort of neckwarmer that doesn't keep your neck warm? lol

A Nike dry fit ball cap (no bands or clasps)worn backwards under a full face or half helmet is common around here.

I have a bunch of these: https://www.buffwear.com/catalog/

You can pretty much wear it however you want:

And they have fleece ones you can get for colder weather. I personally like to wrap it around my neck to stop airflow from going down my jacket. Even the lighter, generic-buffs are good at keeping me warmer. And in hot weather it's great for absorbing sweat and dirt. It's really a must-have piece of riding gear for me.

Knowledge, this is what I use for snowboarding and on colder days, use it for riding.

Thin Oxford balaclava - makes helmet easier on an off, keeps earphones in and covers neck and if you want it face - packs tiny. Lot less bulk than looks in the pics.

I use a full head balaclava just pulled back so it's not tucked under my helmet...and since I can't locate it now I just put on a regular scarf...tucked under my helmet strap it's awesome for cold morning.

How about an apple or an orange?

Edit:
Whoops! Sorry, I thought the subject line said you wanted a banana substitute.

serious???

This is what I use. It's very similar to Buff bandana, but it's not cotton and costs much, much less.

For $4 I can afford to have one in every jacket's pocket. I wear two if it's cold, one under the jacket collar one above. I wore it at 47 in the shade all day long last summer - no excessive sweating and good wind protection.
