What's for dinner?

I made the switch to keto 4 weeks ago and I'm never going back.

She doesn't look happy in the video still.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

Wonderful stuff @mbroyda. I did risotto recently as well, and after a-too-long-break. Great minds think alike

.

I've been negligent here recently, but otoh I have a cache of great food pics to post and it's a holiday weekend coming. I have a 10 pound bone in shank picnic style ham I picked up on sale for the meal (under $20)... that I will P.I.M.P. out on the grill
bowdown.gif
as I always now make the effort to do. All sides and dishes were picked up today in a shopping trip for another tasty and memorable holiday meal. I hope you all enjoy your holiday meal!

And I couldn't help myself in a few recent grocery trips
whiteflag2.gif
. I finally saw pork back ribs on a big sale after waiting months (in a good vacuum pack) and picked up 20 racks for the deep freezer. Plus more frozen tuna poke, frozen cedar planked salmon, frozen large breaded squid, and large frozen raw large tiger shrimp in shell (16-20 per pound, on sale half price), escargot, fine cheeses, quality crackers, fresh sourdough bread, avocados, baby bok choy, red/orange/yellow sweet peppers, asparagus, mandarin oranges, etc, etc. The garden is still providing too and I visited two of my favorite custom meat butchers. The freezer is totally packed.

In the mean time I've really been enjoying this Asian chicharon as great snack food again. I find it tasty and savory.

Enjoy great food!

Well, fresh premium kabobs at the local grocer are now out of season and gone. I'll miss them until next spring

. In honour here are some pictures of my last kabob meals this year.

These foods pop visually with big eye appeal as well as being a favorite of friends and family in all ways. Large pictures with lots of detail (click to zoom). It's a simple and easy meal that's super tasty.

Here are a few more pictures from the last page that I just have to admire again.

Red wine and shallot marinated beef kabobs. Lovely oils and tenderness (it's in a number of pics). Top notch.

A totally vegan thanksgiving menu on the cards for today.

Homemade roasted butternut squash and poblano pepper soup to start followed by a “seafood” linguine made from cashew cream sauce with nutritional yeast powder, norri seaweed sheets, sun dried tomatoes, tomato purée, fresh ground pepper all blended in the vitamix at high speed for about 10 mins to get the creamy smooth consistency, fresh baked garlic baguette on the side. Then to finish homemade buckwheat crepes filled with chopped local peaches marinaded in grand mariner and maple syrup warmed on the stovetop, flambé with some more grand marnier and topped with whipped coconut cream.

Got the buckwheat flour this past summer from a proper mill, stoneground. Crepes made with just flour, water, salt and baking soda. Really delicious and held together well after resting the batter at room temp for a bit and cooked on a proper crepe pan. I might actually take pics this time. Just finished the prep work with most of the cooking done.

Time to relax with some nice Quebecois beer. Trois Pistoles 9% from the Unibrou brewery in Quebec.

Happy thanksgiving!

Some sweet potato smash and some traditional mashed potatoes.

Nice pictures @Joe Bass!

I enjoyed some more chicken (scratch made) mole tortilla meals. I made these with white flour and corn tortillas as well as fresh garden tomatoes and onions, plus romaine lettuce, shredded three cheese blend, salsa, MX hot sauce and sweet red pepper (on the last four). Big, tasty, filling.

I grilled a spicy apricot glaze ham for Canadian Thanksgiving
thumbup2.gif
. This one is a 10 lb bone-in shank picnic style ham, smoked with apple, cherry and hickory wood chips. The meal included scratch-made candied yams, scratch-made cast iron skillet stuffing and fresh sliced garden cucumber. Dessert was premium pumpkin pie with whipped cream. It was a great meal with big eye appeal. Big pictures with lots of resolution. Enjoy.
