What do you think of these Helmets?

I wouldn't take it personally there are people on here with strong opinions about safety and what should and shouldn't be worn. You're your own decision maker and should in the end buy what you like.

There's a system called SHARP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHARP_(helmet_ratings)) it's used in the UK for helmet ratings. They do their own 3rd party testing. While they don't do every helmet on the market it can give you an indication of the kind of safety you'll get with a given "style" of helmet.

Check it out maybe you can get an idea of the kind of protection it offers.

I don't like the goggle only helmets. My only helmet is a 3/4 but I wear it with a bubble face shield. Bubble shields are awesome. Love the 50% lighter weight and great field of vision. I would like to own a full face too. I do recommend the use of fullface on highways. I think however before I get one, I have to fill in the gap in my gear. Right now I do not have any kind of protective pants at all. Lesser helmet and pants from an overall safety perspective is better than full helmet and no pants. Or so I think.

The new shark raw also has a similar design.... You should check those out as well.... Pretty reputated company

Until you get a bug in the face while riding on the highway :P Full Face/Modular all the way.

Yeah the good thing about these is you wont fog up the face shield and they're a lot easier to breathe in without getting spit all over the padding like with full face/modular and bigger holes. I am going to get one to replace my **** THH. Someone knocked it off the table at school and scratched the clear coating and nobody would tell me who did :( so I'll be going with a matte finish this time around. Also the mouth piece is an insert so you can remove it so that open face look.

Can your bike fly???

If not ,then why buy "pilot style" helmet???

***tenses up and gets ready to run ***

edit: if any one here plays CCS then that shark helmet should remind you of the GSGN!

Get what you want. They meet safety standards and I've tried them on for kicks. They are comfortable. Decide how much risk you want and go for there :)

I hate full face helmets (but I own 8), the field of vision in an open face is obviously way better. On a cruiser with a windshield, bugs generally don't get to your face. On the sporty bikes with less windscreen I kinda have to wear a full face. I like my open helmets and I don't care what other people think. I am 41 and well aware of the level of safety involved. And yes, I have gotten off my bike at speed on the 401 many moons ago, I definitely make an informed decision.

if any of you have seen a full face helmet after a good tumble, where the mouth part under the visor has hit the ground hard. And saved the riders jaw, I dont think you would ever wear anything but a full face, quality helmet. How much is your head worth?

I want one so bad. Fit is awful on my weird head, unfortunately.

Same here, I have a giant head and most companies don't make a 3XL....

The 2XL for this helmet was so close to fitting, but it was just a bit too tight for me unfortunately.

Not to mention one by a designer rather than a company focused on safety.

Its like buying a cartier over IWC watch (jewelry vs watch)

Not a fair point, because these DIESEL helmets are made by AGV, the Italian helmet manufacturer... it is right there on the pictures, agv logos on helmets and visors... obviously they just applied some DIESEL decals to the lid...

Hey, if it is good enough for Valentino, it is good enough for me...

(Also, Cartier watches are not half bad)

Not sure if I said this before, but I have every intention of getting and using a full face bucket for highway or extended rides. I actually already own one, I'm going to replace with a newer one.

The half face is just for showing off, maybe commuting in slow traffic, or a weekend run around town.

I want it for the same reason you ride. because it looks cool. I'm not ashamed to admit it. If you are of the belief that full face 24/7 is the only way to go, I respect your decision too.
