What did you do in your garage today..?

More snow? No problem.

You should see two little oddly shaped blocks on either side of the gearbox.
The will each have a silver pin going through them held in place with a washer and cotter pin. I've seen an unusually high number break, so much so they were on backorder at Honda. I'd order a couple extra just in case from your dealer. Otherwise these are hands down the best blowers on the market.

What is easier to handle? A tracked blower or one on wheels?

My craftsman has wheels and I can whip that thing around fairly easy. But I can see the benefit of tracks as it probably deals better with bigger/heavier snow.

I'm pretty sure a tracked blower has better traction and can power through deep snow better.

Maybe only downside is moving it around when the blower is not running. I assume pushing the tracked version requires much more muscle than a wheeled one. My wheeled Craftsman is easy to move around the garage and to and from my storage shed, in particular when I pull the locking pin out of the left side of the axle.

I never thought I would ever use the words 'I have snowblower envy' until today...lol.

My ONLY concern with tracked blowers is that if my wheeled one dies...I can just easily roll it to wherever I need. It doesn't seem like the tracks would allow for such flexibility.

Weather is warming up, time to search for a new(er) snowblower for me.

I'm a few notches down from the baller status here! That thing probably cost 4x mine.

Someone else beat me to the free one he had offered! But if the price is good....

Mine died about 500' away from home. Pulling the turning handles frees the tracks so you can pull it. It is a lot more work than a wheeled machine to pull. The hardest part was pulling it up onto a trailer. That was hard work.

I went with tracks so I could do things like make the toboggan hill and climb stairs in the back yard to get snow away from the house.

I never even considered the fact it can go up the stairs!

I currently have a 24" 9hp that works great (besides the torn apart auger housing), and will measure the doors where it's stored as I wouldn't mind going up to the 27-30" range.
