We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

The orientation for Hamilton is about an hour or less, you'll have a 10 min conversation with your host who will tell you the important stuff and then a walk around the grounds where they will tell you how the place "works" . They are VERY safety conscience , as a result its a very safe club. If your doing something thats not proper any and all members will let you know in a very polite manor. I find the members very helpful, offer coaching and help if you are open to improving and its very interesting collection of individuals . I'm there for the skeet shooting , I rarely shoot trap , the sporting clays course is there to remind me I'm not that talented .

Recently I started looking into just getting some BB guns etc...apparently can't fire them in Mississauga, Toronto, Wasaga or anywhere else in your yard that I have access to.

Meaning that if I went that route, I'd still be limited to only the range.

Not sure that's worth the bother. May as well get the PAL/RPAL as I can use the BB guns...only in the same places that I can use real guns.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

While still a contravention of bylaw, You can shoot bb guns inside. Your house is not a good layout for this, maybe the cottage basement provides that option. Otherwise, crown Land is possible. They are quiet so they don't attract much attention.

Didn't consider the basement actually.

Wasaga has the space at the cottage...but a nosy neighbour that's already threatened me for 'day burning' as her friend 'is the fire chief and while she doesn't want to threaten me...she will tell him'.

So it's more of an annoying neighbour up there.

How loud are these things anyway?

Less loud than hammering a nail. Distinctive sound though so a nosy neighbour can hear and call if you are shooting outside. If shooting in the basement, neighbours can't hear it.

When he was a teenager, my wife's brother was visited at gunpoint by the swat team while playing with a bb gun. A neighbour called it in as a man with a gun. Scared the poop out of him.

Well, I did the HGC orientation today and shot a couple of rounds of trap with the new 694... :)
'Shot a 21 and a 20... 'Not too bad for not having shot trap in a looong time and with a brand new gun.
Now I need to figure out a way to carry that fancy gun case on my FJR so I can ride to the club 😁

Just wear it across your back and you get a police escort.

With a 33" take down length it shouldn't take too much imagination to work it out.

Where there's a will there's a way...
I once rode my 1250 Bandit to a range about an hour from home carrying a 45ACP 1911 pistol, a Benelli M4 shotgun and an AR15.
Plus ammo for all. 'Had side cases a top case and a backpack.
When I got to the range there was a large contingent of Niagara Reg. Police present for a training day...
The looks I got while unpacking were akin to how people look at a magician or a clown pulling endless handkerchiefs outta their sleeve.
A few came over to see... "How the hell did you get all that in there"
The one guy was amazed/didn't know an AR breaks in two so easily.... 'Musta been a rookie :)
